What Nobody Told Us About Jeeps.

So we all know how great Jeeps are, but when you got yours did you discover something(s) nobody told you about? For me it was that windshields are a consumable item. What did you discover?

chipmonk66gt 04-04-2013 03:56 PM

That my pocketbook can hate me.

Duckquackers 04-04-2013 03:57 PM

That it doesn't matter if it is new or used it will still cost you MORE money!

dawhitesJKU 04-04-2013 04:37 PM

....the rear window on the soft top.
i really like the ease of the soft top for the open air experience, but it didn't bug me until i had my first grocery experience.
removing the rear window just to fit groceries is a pita.

jmcd 04-04-2013 04:41 PM

That every time a hummer tries to pull up next to me my jeep hikes its rear tire!

Proxy404 04-04-2013 04:44 PM

Holy bug splatter batman!

Even with rainx and wax, you'll still be cleaning bugs off all those flat, front facing surfaces forever.

x2 on dawhitesJKU's comment as well.

Not even 600 miles on mine and a huge crack already...

jeepers29 04-04-2013 04:45 PM

I learned you can have FUN while driving!

legitposter 04-04-2013 05:39 PM

..nobody told me it was so weak sounding. When you can hear injectors much louder than anything else, it just ain't right.

Run this system, you will hear it. :punk:

that you will always have AT LEAST one strange unidentifiable sound coming from somewhere on, in, or under your jeep. Soon as you track that one down and fix it, a new one begins.

HK_Runner 04-04-2013 06:02 PM

I learned that washboard mountain curvy roads with no rails, are the enemy!!

jimbot 04-04-2013 06:47 PM

The wave. When to do it, how to do it. For a while there, I thought it was a myth.

c_york27 04-04-2013 07:21 PM

There are radio controls on the back of my steering wheel!

That you can lean against the skin of a JK and fart and do major damage.

Sebas 04-04-2013 07:28 PM

That you could change the oil yourself in lÚsÚs than 30 min clean up included

OMG I found mine today by accident

Senior Chief 04-04-2013 08:03 PM

That even though it has the ride comfort of an inquisition torture device, I'd still choose to drive it nearly every day...

whitej0606 04-04-2013 08:28 PM

That the mods just keep coming. And the money keeps going faster and faster

Ron2003x 04-04-2013 08:29 PM

x2!!!

Rodger L 04-04-2013 08:30 PM

I find I'm never in a hurry anymore to get anywhere. My wife teases me saying I drive like an old lady!

Ta Da! Like magic!! Go forth and never again touch the radio dial! :punk:

MudRunner 04-04-2013 08:48 PM

That the wrangler is the bane of flying bugs. After a long drive on the highway I am able to reduce the population of bugs in the area in which i'm driving by at least 50%, guaranteed

Reece 04-04-2013 09:16 PM

Windshield collects flying rocks too. I've had 3 hits in 3 months. The last one cracked it pretty good.

scuba_steve 04-04-2013 09:23 PM

No one told me that when I was in the 101st ABN at 17 and got behind the wheel of my first jeep, that I would spend the next 30 years behind the wheel of one.

Not complaining. Just thought that I might grow up at some point. ;)

Okay, off to play CoD. :punk:

Sorbs 04-04-2013 09:34 PM
