Tahuya April 21st

There are some who want to get out and do some off roading. So, I am setting up a run to Tahuya on the 21st. All are welcome to go and get some dirt on their rigs. My question is this, who is in?
We can meet at the Safeway in Belfair and head on up, you will need a discover pass.

You all are more than welcome. This should be fun..

What time do you meet? I live in Bellingham and it takes a bit to get there. Is it easy to meet up once you are on the trail, assuming I have a CB with me?

I'm guessing you hit the entire loop and possibly twice?

wrangleryj90 04-09-2013 01:26 PM

Might just need to leave early I am leaving early by two hours from my place as I live that far away.

wrangleryj90 04-09-2013 01:33 PM

Wave when you go through Tacoma. I'm just off the freeway

wrangleryj90 04-09-2013 01:50 PM

Deal lol

nwbronco 04-09-2013 09:08 PM

The north loop can be run in as few as 2.5 to as long as 6 hrs. Same for the south loop. There are plenty of turn offs to explore.

I am definitely coming. Trying to convince a buddy, whose only hesitation is its a stock jeep and they don't want to "mess anything up". Any advice i can add to my argument that Tahuya is fine for that set up?

wrangleryj90 04-09-2013 09:27 PM

I am going with a stock jeep it's fine all I have is new 30" tires it's the perfect place to start:) btw I might end up staying at a camp site near the trail just so I don't end up driving two hours before and after

nwbronco 04-09-2013 09:33 PM

The kid wheels her stock TJ there all the time. The rocks all have bypasses. The mollies on the south loop has a few mollies that have to be ran, the rest are off the loop road. There is a campground associated with the trail. It is reservation only. The gates are locked otherwise.

I was thinking about meeting up at the Safeway there in Belfair at 10 and head up there at 10:30. Bellingham is a ways to travel I know. As for the trails, I am sure it is easy to meet up.

I think Tahuya is almost made for stock Jeeps. Tell them to look at the trail ratings and they will see for them self's that they would be fine. Just stay off the rock garden and that is just optional to get into that.
Hope they can make it as well.:thumb:

Imagine that, I did not see you. LOL. Seven hours is a long ass drive. It is about that going to Republic, speaking of that, I think we should be going there in 3 or 4 months. Never thought I would have taken a fairy in that neck of the woods.
Glad you made it safe and sound bro.:thumb:

wrangleryj90 04-11-2013 08:49 PM

Yea the jeep decided she wanted to kill the cat so I get to cut that out tomorrow lol

Happy Friday every one. Just over a week to go and I hope every one can make it. Like I say, the more the marrier and all are invited.

I'm in. Been looking for a place to start. Stock 2012 a daily driver needing to be broke in a lil

JeepAngel 04-14-2013 11:59 AM

What is needed. I haven't even gotten recovery gear just yet.

Tyler237 04-14-2013 12:13 PM

Just a tow strap and you have points on your jeep to get towed out, but at tahuya you won't get stuck

I dont think you need any thing but you and your jeep. Though it would be good to acquire some recovery gear at some point but, this is a pretty easy place. There will be a ton of winches and straps out there so, dont think you have to worry to much.
Glad to hear you are coming as well. Should be a nice turn out.:thumb:

wrangleryj90 04-14-2013 12:24 PM

I have enough recovery gear and I'm willing to break my jeep to get you unstuck

JeepAngel 04-14-2013 12:28 PM

Thank u everyone! We should plan a weekend run on a Saturday, camp then leave on a Sunday when the weather gets warmer. I sleep in my jeep, but it's still chilly just yet, but we should definitely plan.

JeepAngel 04-14-2013 12:30 PM

Just know though that Capitol Forest is off my list for an overnighter as it is no longer a safe place to trail ride and camp. Too many bad people wondering and hiding out up there anymore.
