Whats it worth? 97 TJ

I will keep this short. I have a 93 YJ, 4 banger... Sister is selling her 97 TJ with the 4.0L and 5 speed. I am thinking about picking it up as a small project since she rolled it about 1.5 years ago. As far is I know it needs...

-New Doors
-New Hood
-New Fenders
-New top and hardware
-New rear axles

It has 180k miles on, interior is pretty much shot since it was my sisters first car and she didnt take care of it very well. So it will probably need all new seats as well. I know the 4.0L is an amazing engine. What do you guys think I should offer my sister for the car? Thanks

Its got to be worth more than that. It runs great, just needs some work.

Family discount should account for something too

It also has 180,000 miles and it could have some frame damage from the roll depending on how bad it was.

It's already in the parts jeep category (what's left anyway), so I wouldn't get too excited. If you can get it for a song then go for it, but be prepared to replace more than what you mentioned. You never know what else might be tweaked.

If the engine and tranny is what your after the most, check and see whats needed to put them in your YJ. It will probably be cheaper than replacing everything you listed, plus, While the engine and tranny are out, you could do a rebuild to ensure they will last longer. Just a thought.

$1K max...hope to get the drive train and some odds and ends for your YJ or another TJ project. You have a nightmare in the making if you are trying to rebuild.

Just my $.02

The thing it's not really that bad. I wish I had some pictures. There is no frame damage, my dad and I have been under it quite a bit checking everything. She had been driving it for about 6-8 months after that. Only reason she stopped is because my little brother went into the marines and she has been driving his XJ.

We already put a new windshield and frame on. That was smooth sailing. It has a relatively new soft top but she bought it in pieces so one part is black and the other part is spice. Looks dumb. I think the hardware is bent that's the only reason but it closes just fine.

I can't believe that when she rolled it, it was on its roof for about an hour before the tow company flipped it back over and he started it and drove it out of the field. These things are unstoppable!!
