I'm thinking about heading up and hitting this trail with a couple of buddies. I have a 2.5 TJ with a 32" tires, 4" lift, CV shafts, ARB in the rear with 30 spline axles and upgraded to the AX15 tranny. I also just got a 2007 JKU Rubi that is stock except for the fact its a rubi, Flat fenders, and I put 35" tires on it. Ive been wheelin' for a long time so the technicality of the trail is not what worries me.
My question is, should I leave the Rubi at home and take my short wheelbased jeep instead of worrying everytime I come across a rock garden? Yes this does seem like an awfully stupid question, but I would so much rather go in my new JK for comfort wise and I can sleep in the back of it instead of in a tent on the ground.
If you have any other advice or tips for me, by all means I am looking for as much information on this trip/trail as possible. Thanks guys.

I believe they recommend no less than 35's locked. Also a winch is a must have. If you have a Rubi locked on 35's I would take that. Also...there are many videos out there showing the terrain. That should give you an idea as to what to expect. The hill they call Thomson hill I think is the toughest part because its all rock most the way up. However I bet with a good spotter and some careful driving you can get through it without a scratch. Either way as I understand it. It doesn't matter what you take. Just be prepared for anything.
