Anyone running vented/slotted rotors?
 
I was thinking of getting some vented and slotted rotors as I am running 35s.

Anyone have any experience with these? Do they improve braking with the larger tires?

And, can these be cut when the rotor surface needs to be resurfaced?

I don't know either. I would also like to upgrade my brakes. But I remember reading a thread once which implied one were better than the other. I believe it was something along the lines of the slotted being cast and drilled rotors being drilled, not cast?? But what about pads? Which pads are the best or what is the best combo? Mostly on road here, only other use is slow rock crawling. What about the ebc? green or yellow pads that I see in quadratech?

You don't want drilled or slotted rotors on a Wrangler. If you offroad, rocks and crap can get wedged and destroy the rotors/pads. You will gain zero benefit on a Jeep.....or on a street car. It only helps on a track.

Not entirely true. I ran cross drilled on my astro van. It helped from warping my rotors when I towed the rv. I would warp rotors every time I came down the mtn. But on a wrangler I'm not sure it's needed.

Ok well how about this concept then? I read the towing a boat thread the other day in which it was pointed out that the Eurpoean model had a higher towing rating due to having larger rotors? So are there just larger rotors and better pads that we could run? What is the best option for onroad/ontrail brakes for larger tires and heavier wheels?

A bigger rotor is more surface area. Which is good. Better griping pads are good. But if u really want stopping power do both and better calipers. Also upgrade brake lines to braided ones.
