Any plans for this Saturday, April 20th?

Looking to get out this Saturday, anyone planning a run?

If not, I will probably head up to Evans Creek for some more snow fun if anyone wants to join up.

Haven't been to either. How does Walker compare to Evans Creek for a JK Unlimited? I'm fine with ripping up the fenders and have sliders to hopefully keep the rockers safe just want to keep the painted parts free of damage if at all possible.

Well I've never been to Evans creek

Tyler237 04-16-2013 07:11 PM

What size tires do you have? And winch?

Skawt 04-16-2013 07:25 PM

Running stock Rubicon 32s, has winch, straps, recovery points front and rear.

You will be fine up at walker but there is one trail you will need 33s or bigger. Have you took your jeep out?

YJJMcK 04-16-2013 07:38 PM

where is Walker?

bondosgto 04-16-2013 08:21 PM

15 minutes from mount Vernon. If there is a run for walker on Sat I might go, Sunday would work better.

Can a stock JKU with 32" Rubicon take-off's play up there without a lot of damage? In other words, are there some moderate trails to choose from or is it a single long trail without bypasses?

I live up in Bellingham and would love to find a local place to test my Jeep a little more. So far, I have just run the loop at Tahuya and that was fine, except for a few places, but got through unscathed. Thoughts?

Well, im not going to tell you its unicorns, rainbows and cute puppy dogs, buts its not like your going to destroy yours. Plan on scraped fender flares, and tweaked bumpers, and rocker panel damage if you dont have some sort of sliders/armor. Go slow, pick good lines and someone help you keep the damage down.

Sounds like I should wait until I have a lift and more protection. Just stock side steps, which would do little to prevent damage. I liked that at Tahuya there were obvious easier routes around the nasty stuff so if you gave it a try a few times and it didn't work out, you could just go the easy route through the section and move on.

Tahuya is all super easy lol

But everyone is different

I have been to walker a few times... the trails are what you make of them. I have seen two wheel drive s10s make it to the top of the mountain. At the same time I have seen a friend total his Jeep sport being stupid. You just need to read the map and take it easy. No your limits, and stick to them dont let someone push you into doing something you shouldnt... Walker is where I plan on taking my brand new Rubicon to this coming Monday. ( I work this weekend and have Monday off).

Hope that helps a little.

Tyler237 04-18-2013 01:27 PM

So we are headed up to walker anyone wanna come

Skawt 04-18-2013 01:28 PM

Well it looks like my new sliders won't arrive until I get home tomorrow so I probably can't install them until Saturday morning.

Walkers a drive for me so i'll head out to either Evans Creek or Elbe to try them out later in the morning. If anyone wants to meet up at either of these places just let me know!
