Conflicting Information with wheels?!?

I'm trying to figure out what wheels I need for my 2013 2-dr Sport which is on order. It comes with the stock 16" steel wheels and I want to put on the biggest tires without making any other modifications. I'm looking at 285/70r17 or 285/75r16 Duratracs.

Problem is, I can't figure out what wheel to look for. I see many posts that say I would need a backspacing around 4.5" and that stock 17" wheels would need spacers. But, I also see many posts saying that these 285s fit no problem on stock wheels with no spacers.

I don't have my Jeep yet and I don't know anyone else so I can't look and measure for myself. Wouldn't 1.5" spacers or a lower backspacing like 4.5" push the tire out, putting it underneath the lip of the fender that hangs down, giving less clearance? Or will the tire still stay inside the lip of the fender and have more room to move up and down?

If you have 285s that don't rub at all on a JK with no lift and no levelling kit, could you please give details? Please, just definite answers, no "should work" or "I hear these will work" answers... I've read dozens of these already! I'm in Canada and I'm likely ordering wheels and tires to be shipped from the US so I want to make sure I get it right the first time.

285/75-16's work on my 2013 jku with no issues. wheels have 4.5" bs I think you would rub with stock rims when turning don't know for sure because switched rims at the same time. They stick out a little past the flaires but when you are flexing off road the axle is high on oned end low on the other and they tuck inside the high side.

I installed Duratrac 285/70/17 on stock wheels on a 2013 wrangler sport. I have rubbing only at full lock towards the right, not towards the left. It is less that 1/8 of an inch issue that must be corrected either with 1.25 inches spacers or with a minimal limitation on the turning right radio.

I wanted to go with spacers but the local jeep service manager told us horror stories of wheels on spacers coming off in the highway, even high quality spacers... So we are doing more research before taking that route... I doubt it as if that were the ca this forum would be full of those stories and i could not find one.

I'm either getting those or vtecs. Just deciding on sizing.

I know everyone has different tastes but when I saw the vtecs in person I knew they were not for me. I know many probably think that about the raptors.

I like them both a lot. The problem w Vtec raptor is they only come in 17 or bigger. I want 16. Problem w the racelines is that they have the chrome nuts. Still love em but would prefer am all black mag. Almost positive I'll get the raceline raps though :)

I figured I was going to paint the chrome bolt heads when I got mine but have not yet.
