pulling carrier question

I need to pull the rear carrier/ARB from my dana 44. Something is messed up in the locker and I need to send photos off to arb to get the replacement parts. As I live in a condo, leaving it on jackstands isn't an option. If I pull the carrier, can I put the shafts back in and leave it sitting on its own weight (without the carrier installed) or will this damage the axle? I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but thought I'd ask. Thanks

I would think not having the carrier in place, would cause unusual stress on the outer axle bearing and seal. Although the shaft is bolted to the backing plate, so it may not matter. Sorry, I don't have an answer, just thinking out loud.

Can you leave it on jack stands with the tires on? Basically for show?

That may actually be a promising idea..... I'm a little nervous I won't be able to get the carrier out, but I'm ready to get the thing fixed and ready to go wheel.

I think we should be able to make something work to leave it in my garage. Pretty sure the Hoa president left today for a while so we should be good to put it in the back parking spot.

Hell yeah! That would be amazing.... So long as it won't be an issue with them that would be amazing. I've read up on it and seems pretty straight forward. Biggest pain is going to be disconnecting the airline to the arb, the truss sits over it and access is tight
