Interior Trim and Knobs Changes.. Need Opinions..

I've decided I want to change my trim and knobs on my new 2013 Sport S. I recently Customized my seats Red w/black stitching and would like my trim and knobs to compliment them but I don't want to go OVERKILL! Im thinking either RED w/ black screws or BLCK Gloss w/ red screws .. OPINIONS????

cmaggi2 04-22-2013 07:28 PM

The red seats are already overkill...
Paint the chrome covers either black or red, hard decision. I'd take off the vent caps and plasti-dip them to see if black would look cool, if not, rattle can primer and matching red rattle can spray paint make the vent caps pop.

Great Idea.. I'm totally confused.. and yes the red seats are already overkill

Lighting is poor and doesn't do the color justice, but my vent caps are a color matched with Mopar spray paint

I have black seats, this is what I did

Lowerumble 04-22-2013 07:36 PM

I would do everything that is silver in just black. So the entire interior is just black. Let the red seats do all the talking. Then outside, I would just do a few red accents to tie it in. Check out one of the new black 10a rubicons.

Sorry for the triple pic, I'm on phone. You can peel plasti dip off so it isn't permanent. It'll still give u an idea of if you'd like black.

That's hot for sure!! I was thinking that as well because even if I paint the knobs red the two different reds may clash.. Overkill!

Yes, if you can't match the reds it would look terrible IMO. Agree with above posters too, black out the silver and call it a day...for now.

IMO go red on the knobs and trim to match the seats.

Considering.. Don't think that would be overdone?? Don't wanna overdo the red .. and wanna make sure it coordinates well

SilverSport 04-22-2013 08:59 PM

If you look at the pics others posted showing color matched vent rings and grab handle, I think it would look right. But that's just my opinion.

If you want something different, search for "water printing" and find one of the sites with all the patterns. It can be pretty sweet and something different looking. Black with red skulls or something of the like!

That would look awesome in camo and I generally hate camo accessories. DIY or you paid? How much?

Camo would be sick in an army green jeep!! I agree

I paid. The dude actually stopped by my shop because he kept seeing the jeep and thought it would be sweet to do the interior. He showed me pics of another jeep and qouted me $80 to do all the interior accents. I am not sold on the colored interior and told him that I was likely to just do them all black. I was going to do the rash guards all gecko, but decided to give him a go at the water printing. I like the look of something different and am considering doing my rear corners or fenders to match. Can't really decide yet and they haven't arrived yet, so I have another week to think about it!

They do have alot of camo patterns though. There is something like 300 designs. I am not actually considering doing all the trim in a dark grey wood burl look so that it is still something different but "blends" into the dash area quite a bit more...

cmaggi2 04-22-2013 09:56 PM

It looks nice, you made a good decision. The price isn't too bad once you consider buying your own paint, time, etc.

Sorry, couldn't edit for some reason? But I removed "not", because I AM considering it.

Honestly, I like the red seats but I wouldn't add any more red to the cabin - change the chrome trim to black. A few red accents on the outside might work.

paulj 04-23-2013 01:23 PM

Actually, from a design perspective, adding more red items would balance the impact of those red seats. The red seats by themselves are a very strong visual statement, (too much so according to some here) but adding red accents lessens the impact.

I agree. But i'm trying to decide should I add accents to the exterior or would it be too much to add red accents to the interior along with the seats (ie. Knobs and Trims) any suggestions?

I have Dozer inserts on my seatcovers and think the dash/grab handle and vent accents weren't too much. Of course, "too much" in Jeep parlance is subjective...:D:D

What are you trying to accent on the exterior? You can remove the interior accents fairly easily if you don't like them. I wouldnt worry about the interior.
