Fuel cell

Has anyone ever done a fuel cell that fits behind the back seat or would there not be enough room?

GoldenSahara00 04-24-2013 04:44 PM

Tj or Lj? In sure you could custom build one. The sky is the limit.

Tj I know there isn't much space but I was thinking if u go flush with the top of the body u could get a considereable amount of fuel in there

It would be decent. Measure the dimensions and find the volume.

Sounds a little dangerous carrying gas inside the vehicle. Are you piping it to the tank or directly to the engine.

Straight to the motor

Fuels cells are more common on trail rigs but I've seen them in we'll built DD rigs. A commercial cell is very safe.

RCI has a fuel cell 15 gallons that will fit behind the seat
you can get it from summit or i seen on 4x4groupbuy.com they have everything in a kit for close to $500

i am looking into this as well and dont see where there is near 300 to parts/hoses
i have seen fuel cells on ebay for around 150ish

I think for new pumps, inline filters, etc it gets up there. You can reuse the stock pump by cutting a hole in your new tank.

i went thru last night and priced everything you would need individually that is listed on the 4x4groupbuy.com website
and after you add up all the lil 15-20 dollar fittings you get right near $500 for everything

What gets you are the aluminum adapters and fittings.

Don't forget baffling either. Wayne @ Alltech motorsports has the best design than that standard foam junk or wiggle balls which break down over time.
