Hey i guys i tool my 2003 jeep tj 4.0 for a drive today. It felt like it was pulling slightly to the right but I didn't think much of it. Anyways coming up to a stop i tapped the brakes and was pulled violently to the right. I immediately stopped, and notice my rims, and front disks are HOT!!! Any help? What did i do

Sounds like you have a frozen caliper.

Sounds like a classic caliper freeze up. They are fairly cheap and easy to change

Yep dad runs a part store we went and pulled the wheel off sure enough calipers shot thanks guys

Is there a difference between the steel calipers and just oem? I ordered steel 10$ more. Also should I think of replacing the other side?

when you replace the calipers, look for divot/grooves in the knuckle. common problem with TJ/ZJ/XJ series due to a design flaw.

I had the same thing happen a few years ago. I only replaced the one. No problems

My calibers did the same thing 2 days ago but it seemed like they were both dragging. I replaced both calibers, lines and pads and it's back to normal now. My symptoms were obvious slowing down between shifts, lack of power, burning smell, pulling to the right and a puff of smoke at a stop light. I'm just glad I wasn't too far from the house, they didn't completely lock up and it was a relatively cheap fix.

I had the exact thing happen! First time my doors come off this year and this breaks.... Parts will be here Tuesday... I guess I put some miles on my jk

Just a thought but i'd clean and lube the guide pins before replacing anything.
