Poly Door Hinge Bushings

Magnitude Engineering's premium line of replacement bushings for Jeep Wrangler door hinges will allow you to replace your deteriorated, worn out, or missing OEM bushings with ease. Whether you are trying eliminate unsightly rust, compensate for years of wear, fix that door that won't latch properly, or prevent potentially damaging leaks due to door misalignment; replacing your bushings is the simplest and most cost effective way to improve the appearance and operation of your door.

Simply remove the old bushings if necessary and insert new ones in their place without the extra time and expense of purchasing new hinges, removing the old ones, prepping and painting, or aligning. As opposed to replacing your hinges, replacing only your bushing minimizes the risk stripping a screw or damaging paint.

Magnitude Engineering's premium replacement bushings are precision machined from high lubricity DelrinŽ bar. They firmly support loads in both the radial and axial directions due to their full length barrel and flange. Because of the self-lubricating nature of the material, these bushings do not require additional lubrication. Unlike OEM bushings that are roll-formed from flat sheets of laminated material, these solid bushings will not flake apart or delaminate.

How do these cover up rust?

Magnitude-Engineering 05-04-2013 11:26 AM

Rust

They eliminate the rust caused by worn out bushings that allow the hinges to rub metal to metal therefore removing paint and exposing base metal.

I guess I get that, but if you've already had that issue of metal on metal that's worn paint off and started the oxidation process, these aren't really covering it up are they? These are more of a preventative thing, right? I'm asking because I'm interested...

Where does the vendor claim that the product covers up rust?

vanillathrilla 05-05-2013 02:53 PM

It doesn't. It says something about eliminating unsightly rust--hence my question. I'm not trying to bust balls here, just trying to find out whether or not these might be an answer to MY problems.

Rust

Sorry for the confusion. We don't mean to claim that these reverse rust. We will leave that to the snake oil salesmen out there :D
