i have just recently traded for a 98 tj and as you can tell i have a door problem.. some moron has decided it would be cool to cut the window frame off the top of the doors, everything else still exists, windows still roll up and all, aside from ditching the hideous mall crawler rims, this is first on my list of things to be fixed. my question is why are used doors are so damn expensive?? why cant i find new door shells to switch my components over to?

I think what you are looking for is called door surrounds. And welcome to the forums!

No the actual door frames are missing. Someone cut the window channels off of the top of the door.

OP: Has that Jeep ever been in an accident? It looks like the door has been resprayed too.

It looks like he's missing the entire upper portion of the doors themselves. It looks like the PO thought he'd try to make his own half doors.

Doors are always expensive regardless of model because they are usually a body panel that needs replacing due to accidents I'd guess. Half doors would be cheaper but some people don't like them. Why I don't know because I love the extra room and they just plain look better. They are also much lighter and easier to remove and move around.

I'm guessing with those doors it gets a little moist when it rains.

Oh dam I didnt even notice the top portion was missing! My bad, was on my phone when I posted so I couldnt see the picture very well!

Yeah it has been rolled on the driver side with minimal damage but I'm guessing the PO decided it would look better without a bent channel idk. If you look closely you can see the fender pushed down a little, a set of tubes will be handling that problem. Other than that I'm kinda excited about joining the jeep world, I've always been into the yotas and sami's. my current crawler is a 102" wb Sami with 37's (I love the nimbleness).
