Rock Crawler Front Bumpers

A front bumper will be the next mod for me, so I'm looking at all of my options.

I've been through the mega bumper thread. Some cool bumpers in there, but I don't want a full size deer hunter special. I want a rock crawler bumper.

Please post what you got or want. Since this thread will focus on rock crawlers only, bumpers posted shouldn't go past the grill. I have 35's now and eventually want 37's.

I'll start off with a bumper that has caught my eye recently: the ARB Stubby. Other bumpers I'm interested in are the every popular PSC Brawler Lite, Genright stubby, Hanson to name a few.

Here's the ARB.

Here's my hacked bumper as a temporary solution:

Hey Rick

You know I like my Hanson.
I like the PSC as well.
The genright is pretty nice.

Hope this helps.

I went with a rock hard 4x4 that I bobed. Some people want less coverage but I choose to go this rought to be able to push the front end up ledges and such. It works great for my style of driving.

Paramount Stinger over hear. Comes with a winch plate installed.

I went with the PSC brawler lite, but I looked closely at genright as well. Ended up with the brawler since I wanted to keep the factory fogs and it had provisions for them unlike the genright.

Thanks Buck! Yeah, your Hanson is now a top contender. Somewhat reminds me of the Brawler Lite -- Just plain sexy looking! One thing I like about it is I haven't seen it on literally 100 Jeeps.

Very nice! A buddy of mine on here has the bull bar version. I'm considering that one too. Not sure if I'm cool with that much cutting of the frame though.

Here's his with the bull bar. He's 2acrawl on here.

Pics!! Never seen that one.

I'm personally not a huge fan of the stinger, prefer a bull bar. However, I really like the Evo quarter pounder with stinger.

Have you looked at our offerings? Best part; Made in the USA!

This is by far our most popular JK Front Bumper:

Here's a link to our Dagger Series bumpers. They are our most aggressive and high clearance bumpers for the JK!

IMHO the skid needs to be the same color as the bumper.

Yeah, I'd definitely want it the same color. You think I should get the skid even though I don't have a Rubi? I know it's only $100 extra and looks nice.

Another pic of yours I took Saturday:

Definitely get the skid. It fills the gap between the bottom of the bumper and the cross brace. The only other option is to cut the cross brace out.

caryt 05-03-2013 08:37 AM

No skid..cut off whatever you can.

Roger that! Probably good to not cut things off if it is avoidable. Especially parts of the frame.

See above! :D

Prefer to not cut off pieces of the frame if it can be avoided.

Rick it's not the frame. I think it's main purpose is to protect the e disco on the rubi. But I have cut off a couple of things on my jeep to fit certain modifications then I decide on something else down the road and I can't change because of the pieces I cut off.
So now I try and keep whatever I can.

FYI I have used that skid to ramp up verticals. Without it I'm not sure what would of hit first.

Makes sense. I'd like to think it will be the only bumper I put on there, but you never know if I'll want something else in a few years.

suicideking 05-08-2013 10:51 PM

My latest infatuation: The Genright bull bar stubby.

suicideking 05-27-2013 11:20 PM

Bumper of the day is the Shrockworks stubby. Not crazy about the wait times for their stuff though.

I'm starting to think I want a recessed/hidden winch. Really like that look.
