mystery electrical thingy

New here.. new to jeep stuff.. bought '97 tj .. LOVE it... electrical box in depression just in front of shifter..red and green light.. cable goes back under dash.. maybe associated with a small switch bar ..3 toggles... SO, I thought was associated with alarm... Lost my remote for alarm.. alarm went off.. I tried to stop by pulling out the box and snipping the 3 wires...
Since found other remote.. work for alarm... so now i have a disconnected box and still don't know what it's for...
Can't see how to post a pic.. but the board for the device has bunch of resistors / transistors or (?).. I know even less about this stuff.....

HELP!!!!: :)

BTW I'm to the "old fart" time of life.. the tj is the best vehicle I've had.. better then several 4x4 trucks.. couple of Cherokee chiefs etc...

Thanks!!!

I don't know if you're prohibited from posting/attaching pics until you have a certain number of posts but you can try:

If the pic is stored on your computer click the icon that looks like this http://www.wranglerforum.com/images/editor/attach.gif and click the "Browse..." button and double click the pic in your computer to attach it to your post.

If the pic is stored on a site like photobucket click the icon that looks like this http://www.wranglerforum.com/images/...nsertimage.gif and paste the address of the picture.

It almost sounds like the passenger side air bag control box. Hard to tell without pics though (not trying to be a smarty pants, just sayin).
