Hello from Louisiana
I am a previous owner of a Cherokee who is beginning the process of purchasing a used Wrangler.....somewhere between a 93-2000. If anyone has advice or pointers of what to look for/ avoid in this process I would be greatly appreciative. I have a very basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair, so any advice is welcome. Thanks.

Welcome to the site. I think you'll enjoy it. Lots of info on here and if you can't find it just ask, someone will help. As for lookin for a TJ, make sure you look under it. If its all scraped up or the skid plates all dented, that means its been wheeled off road, Some rust is ok just as long as the entire bottom isn't rusted out, Think about what your plans are, If you'r gona lift it and put on big tires you may want to look for a TJ with a D44 rear axle. There are lots of TJs out there so just take your time and buy the one that you really like.
Let us know what comes up.
