Are15x8 rims to skinny?

I found online a set of 15x8 wheels and tries set. Pretty cheap, but I don't know if the 8" wide rims and tires would look stupid with a 4"lift.

33" x what?
You'll be fine with 33 x 12.5 x 15, but anything wider than that means you should go up to a wider rim.
You need to measure the backspacing of the rim to see if it will fit and not rub. There's ways of adjusting the steering stops and the use of spacers (quality ones installed correctly) can help with the backspacing issue. Also make sure the bolt pattern is correct.
Buying used tires I would check the tread carefully and get them balanced.

I run 40x13.50x17 Goodyear MTRs on 8.5 wheels. 8" is plenty wide.
