Frame Broken, YJ totaled

Son ran into the back of a Buick....
good news he is fine:thumb:
bad news:surrender:
frame cracked on both sides in front of rear wheels:banghead:
I guess we need to find another 95 and start over:facepalm:

BCDonny 05-02-2013 10:58 PM

as long as no one is hurt all other things can be replaced

Wranglin4Life 05-02-2013 11:32 PM

Sorry to hear about the jeep. Glad he is ok though, lots of YJ's to choose from out there.

jokerchief462 05-02-2013 11:43 PM

Good news is your son is still here to help with the repairs. Since you are now looking for another Jeep make a list of all the things you wanted but never added and all the things you had to repair. That will make the next one you look at easier to size up for a deal. It is unfortunate but there are many great garage finds out there still. Good luck with the search. Oh did he hit the Buick hard enough to leave a JEEP logo impression on the back!!!

14 k worth of damage to the Buick

And to all the smitybuilt haters
it is hardly bent

SquareLite 05-04-2013 11:57 PM

Glad the jeep is the one bent up and not your son. I agree with the other post, take the opportunity to have another project with your son and make all the changes your wanted to do on the other one.

4Jeepn 05-05-2013 11:36 AM

There is a junk yard in Portsmouth Virginia with 5 YJ's in various stages of decomp.

I am sure he has a frame to sell you
Johnston Mustang salvage yard in Portsmouth near Naval Shipyard. I got alot of parts of them when I was there for a week.

sevenservices 05-20-2013 08:32 AM

Wow man, tough break for sure.

Glad everyone is ok.

;)

OverkillYJ 05-20-2013 01:51 PM

No pics?

p0larb3ar 05-20-2013 02:21 PM

That green would look real nice with black, just change the spice top to black and your all set

MYKIDS95YJ 05-20-2013 07:24 PM

It sure is quiet with that hard top

I think we will paint it

Nubby55 05-21-2013 11:18 PM

Which junkyard?? I live near there.

MYKIDS95YJ 05-26-2013 09:39 PM

On the replacement YJ drivers door paddle popped out

Turns out the PO inserted the retaining clips and bars upside down

Kid and I got the back in there
I figured out a trick!!!
We also need to do the passenger door (it is loose)
We will try to do a video clip to show shortcut!

It has been a rough year!

A few weeks after my last post (fathers day)
We were in a bad crash in our 2013 ford explorer,
Kids both got bumps and bruises
I have a broken back( crushed L1)
My wife has a chattered cheek ( really bad...6 hours of surgery, 1 after that, and more to come)
We are healing, so blessed that we are all alive and have a lot of support
We were going 55
Guy going 75-80 runs a stop and t bones us
BAD Crash......

Even though the explorer did a great job, she did want another one
She wants a tank
We got her a 2013 Wrangler Unlimited Moab
We could drive for a while
My son was running all our errands
On his way to pick up his sister from practice (she has a 2001 XJ, just turned 16, still on learners )
He is making alert with the arrow, women runs a light, t bones the green YJ
He is ok( just shaken up, he was in our other crash)
The YJ is totaled

I looked for a month, could not find another YJ I like
So we replaced it with a 2005 TJ

She wants a tank

Get her one, literally, get a tank.
At least an APC or deuce and a half

CyndiB 08-18-2013 07:40 PM

Wow, glad to hear that your injuries are survivable and your vehicles are replaceable.

MYKIDS95YJ 08-23-2013 10:28 PM

jeepers29 08-24-2013 06:39 AM

Wow, three accidents where vehicles were totaled and no loss of life. I am glad to hear all in your family are healing and well. I would be a little hesitant to get back into a car at this point. Anyway, welcome to the TJ side.
