How does suspension lift affect My Jeep?

Ive been looking in to getting a suspension lift for my TJ finally. Nothing too crazy, i'm not planning on anything over 3 inches. But i've been curious as to how a lift would affect my gas mileage/drivability/transmission among other things.

Any pointers or things i should look out for?

Also, any recommendations for kits?

What's your budget? How big of tires do you want to run? And what are you trying to accomplish with this lift?

A lift obviously raises the jeep and frame higher above the axles so that larger tires can be fitted and more suspend travel can be obtained. What happens as a result is your driveline angles become steeper, steering geometry is no longer at stock specs, and the axles are moved toward the center of the jeep (front to back) and also to the left or right (depending upon if it's the front or rear axle). This is due to the fixed stock CA length and track bar length. It's isn't too severe especially with a lift under 3" and can all be corrected with after market adj. stuff. Ask questions/start researching if any of that doesn't make sense.

I have the DPG ultimate kit. Comes with all the absolute essentials for what you'll need to run 33's.

It impacts it all, but the coolness, functionality and ego boost gain makes it worth it. :thumb:

I just put a 2 inch spring lift in my 01. It's on 31's. What I did notice. The rear axle shifted about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, the front moved a touch but not noticeable looking at the front of the jeep, I did notice the jeep feels different going down the road, it moves around a little more, but not bad. Overall I love the look and the ride is nice. I will fix the rear axle the off set will drive me nuts no big deal on that just a track bar..
