Oil change question

I just got an oil change about 1500 miles which was also only about a month ago and my dash is saying oil change required?
What could this mean? Do I really already need another? What triggers this thing to go off?

2012 wrangler sport 2door.

Thanks

You just need to reset the oil change light. Instructions to do this will be found in your owners manual.

Well I thought about that but why would it one on now and not before?

It is triggers by driving style, time and miles. If it was not reset last change (probably not since it was not on) it is letting you know it is time by Chrysler standards. Can just reset and not worry. I have changed mine 3 times now and still no light at 7600 miles.

I think the reset is turn ignition on but do not start, dress gas pedal 3 times within 10 seconds, turn ignition off.

I'm thinking maybe I need to proof read my posts a little better! Let's change that "dress the gas pedal" to "PRESS the gas pedal"........

Yea that sequence did not work to reset, I'll just look in manual.
