Whats wrong with CT jeepers

Less tan 50% wave

Are we really that uneducated in connecticut ?

N1IRB 05-04-2013 03:31 PM

When I first got my Jeep two summers ago it seemed like everybody (including CT) waved. This winter/spring it seems like everyone stopped. Not sure why. I've still got my hand out there in the wind tho'.

kuge21 05-04-2013 03:34 PM

I hear you.. Just got my 2013 wrangler and been waving with only about a 10% response. Hopefully with the warmer weather the % responding will increase as I am starting to take it personal.

Dont ever take it personal. I know I've caught myself zoning out before and only after they passed noticed "Damn that was a jeep. I hope I didn't miss a wave". I think in the winter it's easier to crawl into your own world and miss them going by. Warm weather and tops down I think the :wavey: rate goes up.

MyWhiteRubi 05-04-2013 04:13 PM

Ok we will continue to try to pass it along.

Dont lose faith.....I am always waving, and won't stop....some people don't...most do..

MyWhiteRubi 05-05-2013 03:48 PM

Ok why is a JK "Lamo" ?

Ptrowski 05-05-2013 03:51 PM

Live in CT, my first Jeep should be arriving in 2 weeks. When can I be initiated and learn the wave? :)

MyWhiteRubi 05-05-2013 04:09 PM

What is your 1 st jeep? I just got min 1 week ago and it is pretty awesome.

Jeeper32 05-05-2013 04:50 PM

I'm from CT, I try to wave as much as possible but I agree it seems like many people don't know the etiquette haha

Ordered a Billett 2dr Rubicon. Can't wait!

N1IRB 05-07-2013 08:07 PM

This past week has been such awesome weather. Cruising around top down and doors off. Happy to report the ratio of waves is way up!

MarkGLHS 05-17-2013 07:01 AM

i'm over here in Tolland County (where I do most of my Wrangler driving) and although I have only owed my TJ since last July I'd say I am experiencing about a 90% wave from the YJ/TJ drivers and about a 20% wave from the JKers.

......and I too am guilty of zoning out and missing the ocassional complimentary wave.

Jeepinjew 05-17-2013 07:37 AM

I'm definitely guilty of zoning out on my drive home from work, but I feel like I have the opposite luck for waves!

When I see them I wave to every wrangler, but there's a couple tj and yj's that never seems to wave back, every JK has waved back though. I think it's entirely location dependent, back in MA, it's hit or miss, regardless of the model. More wave backs the further away from Boston though.

Since I am new to the club I have been waving to everyone on most roads. I would say about 80% wave back. I can also say even after 5 days o owning my new JK I am hooked. I love this thing!

jeepcreeptj 05-28-2013 06:12 PM

I am from northwest ct and I have a lot of modded wranglers up here. I'd say about 70% wave and most girls aren't wavers

CT Gecko 06-08-2013 06:32 PM

I've got a new JK in Columbia, CT. I get probably a 60% wave hit. My 4 year old yelled at me from the back seat today for missing waving to a black jeep, I was zoning out, he was really riled up about it!

Toolin Around 06-09-2013 07:42 AM

I got my first Jeep in January and have been waving ever since. The weird thing is when I am driving my work van or wife's Honda and I wave at a Jeep out of instinct! I have gotten some strange looks!

FriscoGecko 06-09-2013 08:35 AM

Just keep waving.

When I got me first jeep I had no idea about the wave. Almost every wrangler was waving at me for 2 days before I decided to look into it. Now I wave all the time, you never know if there is a first time owner that has no clue about the jeep life.

sfhock 06-28-2013 11:28 AM

Here in Southwestern CT I've got about a 50% success rate, but i don't let that stop me from wavin' at every wrangler I pass! Just to be clear it's only wranglers right? I'd go nuts if I had to wave at Libertys, Cherokees, etc...

PJHK01 06-28-2013 03:42 PM

Had a YJ for years and everyone waved. Just picked up a JK and the percentage has dropped dramatically. Still a wrangler owner guys...no need to be petty, we're all still a tight group.

GabeTJ 07-02-2013 12:46 AM

You guys don't even understand how much this bothers me. And I think people don't wave to JKs, because most don't expect a wave back. A lot seem to be first time jeepers in CT area, and unless you wave out your window, they won't even see you. Makes me want to pull the ebrake, turn around fast, hope I don't flip, and chase them down to teach them the ways.

PJHK01 07-02-2013 11:30 AM

Well it's unfortunate that I'm viewed as a new jeep owner. I should put a decal on my grill that says seasoned jeep owner.

Beachtime 07-02-2013 11:36 AM

It's hit or miss in Boston .. would say about 60% waves back. It makes my day!

loft 07-05-2013 11:14 PM

I know the feeling. Very few wave to me... I get more waves from JK's than I do TJ's! WTH!

kpickens11 07-05-2013 11:40 PM

Having problems getting the Maine Jeepers to respond on their threads... Ill be up there this week and want someone to show me around but I guess jeep meet ups don't exist in Maine...they're wheeling so much they don't even respond to their own threads!!!

CTfirefighter 07-13-2013 09:13 AM

the nw corner seems to be good with "waves"
although i have to admit i find myself not waving to
JK owners only because i find they dont ever wave back :punk:

JCrush 07-13-2013 10:07 AM

I'm driving through Connecticut now and am about 2 for 20 with waves. Smh.

harryhood 07-13-2013 10:51 PM

I don't wave at JKs, same reason as others usually don't get waves back. Plus I work with a couple of lady's who have JK's hardtop and full doors never come off and the jeep never leaves asphalt. whats the point?
