Door Holders

I'm looking to build something for my doors when I take them off. Any suggestions? Should I hang them up? Or I've seen a cart that you can slide them into. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Do you have a hardtop too? I have both tops for mine. I'm gonna build a simple dolley to put my hard top on and just have some area on the sides to either hang the doors or just prop them up. I'l put up some pictures whenever I get around to doing it if your interested.

I had plenty of wall space in my garage and used the Kobalt storage system from Lowes. I doubled up on the hooks, just in case one fails. Cheaper than buying a new door.

I just screwed 2 j- hook style hangers into the wall for each door. I roll the windows down and hang them by the top rail of the door, works great, they are up out of the way, but easy to get. I will take a pic tonight

I have a pair of door hangers from SkinnyPedal.net. They're a great product but the company/guy who makes them is horrendously slow and lacks any communication skills at all. I waited 6 weeks for mine, and my dad's took 5 weeks to arrive. A few of the JK guys are waiting going on 8 weeks now for their orders.

On to the product...

These could be made by an accomplished fabricator I'm sure. The design is basic enough I suppose.

Thanks for the ideas. I will probably end up getting the J-Hooks. My wife just got a Wrangler Unlimited too, so the garage is going to be packed this summer with doors and tops!

Those are great. Very clean. I was thinking about building something like that, but can't have them sticking off the wall. So I would need to make them collapsible or removable or something.

Would you mind taking a measurement from the wall to the hinge please. I wanna know how far it sticks out.

The wall I would mount these on is the wall I walk by to get in the Jeep. Would work fine with the doors are off, but not so much when they are on.

I was thinking about using some heavy duty conduit, but haven't figured out how to attached the hinge receiver piece yet.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to make something like this?

They extend 6" off the wall to the end of the hinge. Any less and you wouldn't be able to swing the door flush against the wall.

I have the Skinny Pedal hanger also. Some things just are not worth the efforts making yourself.
