Coming to visit!

Hey guys, I'm heading to Vegas from june 29 to july 12. I am driving so I can do some desert trail riding. Yeah, that means driving my lifted JK on 35's from michigan across the damn country :thumb:. I am meeting up with my parents there, so I would like to take them on a nice trail ride. I remember hearing about a trial that leads to a rather isolated area of lake mead, anyone care to fill me in on that? If anyone is free any of those days, I would love to meet up with you and do some trail riding, Michiganiac style! :punk:

We have a variety of trails that go to some places which are a great Sunday ride some with a purpose some just fun.

To Lake Mead you can look up Bitter Springs Backcountry Byway start I-15 and heads to Lake Mead through the muddy mountains Level 1/2 trail. I believe about 20 miles or so.

To Pahrump you can take Wheeler Pass about 20 miles north of town and go to Cold Creek and the trail starts there. Level 1/2 some by passes if you need them but you won't. Tops out at 7700 ft and then down the backside to Pahrump and head to the winery do a little tasting or have lunch or dinner on the patio food is good $$ per person. Wines in $20 plus range.

You can do Burro Wash down to the CO river one way in and out Level 1/2 about 36 miles round trip starts in Boulder City.

Mormon Well Road from the 95 to the 93 via Corn Creek Road is a pleasant Sunday drive also.

Keep an eye on our local page we post up all trips from a loose group of great folks to go out wheelin with. When your getting close let us know we may have something planned that fits the bill.

Temps that time of year are hot usually in the 100s so look for something with some altitude. Send me a PM if you need to but yes were always willing to help the visitors out and show them a good trail.

Well said Joe, those seem to be the most popular. It's gonna depend on what you want to do and how much time you have to blow visiting our beautiful state.

One that Joe didn't mention was Angel Peak, not a long trip but it's a good climb to the Radar Tower that overlooks the Vegas Valley. This is up in the Mount Charleston Area. Since it will most likely be hot, if you want to take a swim in the Colorado River to cool off, Burro Wash is a good trip. It is just gonna depend on what you want to see and want to do. As Joe said keep an eye on the Nevada thread and post up a comment when you know what you schedule is going to be while you are here. I am sure that we can get a group together to show you around where the pavement hounds don't go.

FYI- Go Red Wings, Lions, and Tigers, former Michigander here! (Clinton Township)
