Questions before I lift...

It seems the more I read the more I get confused...
Can you guys take a look at this list before I order??

3" Zone Sus Lift w/ Nitro shocks Should I upgrade to Nitro?

Steering Stabilizer

Should I add any of these
RE1600 adjustable track bar
ZONJ5408 Jeep TJ Rear Pinion Cam Locks
ZONJ5311 Jeep TJ Alignment Cam Kit

33" GY Duratrac
Cragar Soft 8s 15x7 what backspacing

I'm chomping to order and want to ensure I get the right stuff.

Thanks brothers...

What width tires?
And i run the zone 3 inch on mine and only thing i added on was the RE adjustable front track bar, it saves you from weakening the track bar mount so you never gotta worry about it breaking.
The front cam alignment might be needed. If you plan on getting adjustable control arms in the future then youll be fine without them but after my alignment without them it wasnt perfect but was good enough where the tires will wear fine.
I dont think youll need the rear pinion thing, i never ran across it and am just fine.

Sorry, looking at the 33x12.50x15 tires

janosko9424 05-06-2013 09:13 PM

I would suggest getting a 15x8 or 15x10 wheel it will give you a meatier look to the tire

PStov98TJ 05-06-2013 09:20 PM

Definitely go with a 15x8 wheel with 3.75"-4.25" bs. JKS makes a good adjustable trackbar as well that is known for having minimal clearance issues in the front on TJ's. Not sure about the RE one as I have no personal experience with it. And if you've got the money the nitro shocks tend to ride a bit smoother. Only other thing I'd add are maybe some extended swaybar links. Other than that looks like you've got yourself a nice setup! Good luck!

thgr8alex 05-06-2013 10:11 PM

Zone 3 inch kit includes extended sway bar links. It includes all youll need besides those extras that just make things easier and less dangerous down the road. JKS is used by tons of people on here so thats a good one. Ive got the RE on mine, no clearance issues as some other brands have. It was recommended by the guy i bought the kit from (allen, his username is AOR, hes a sponsoring vendor and will get you an AWESOME price on all those parts your looking at, its worth a message to see). And ya id go with 15x8 wheel not a 15x7. General rule is to multiply rim width by 1.5 and the result should be the largest tire to go on the rim +/- .5 inches. Like a 12.5 wide tire fits just fine on a 15x8 wheel. And as Pstov said above, youll want between 3.75-4.25 backspacing for best clearance purposes. Looks like your set though! Any other questions? And good luck! If i were you id read over the instructions for the parts your installing and go spray down tje bolts youll need to remove with pb blaster or something a few times while its shipping. Itll make the install much easier :)

x2 on the PB blaster. Wish I would've done that before I installed mine

Sounds about right!

Looks like your list so far is:
3 inch zone lift w/nitros
Steering stabilizer
RE or JKS front adjustable track bar
Front alignment cam bolts???
15 x 8 ( 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern) cragars with 3.75-4.25 (depending how much youd like tire to stick out; 3.75-more, 4.25-less)
33x12.50x15 GY Duratracs
Can of PB blaster

Looks complete to me! Just decide if you want those front cam bolts or not. Id say go for it if your not planning on getting adjustable CAs anytime soon

cchartrand 05-07-2013 05:36 AM

Just checked UPS tracking, and my Zone 3" will be here tomorrow!!!!! I went w/ almost the same setup but I opted for the JKS trackbar and MIckey Thompson Baja MTZ's. Good luck! I'll keep you updated on how mine goes together.

I'm a little on the illiterate side when it comes to some of the bits and pieces on our amazing toys, so can you explain what the cam bolts are and the purpose of them? I'm getting this lift in the next couple months too so good info in this thread for me

wranglerbob1 05-07-2013 07:44 PM

Cam bolts for alignment. Mine are factory on the 97 but not sure about a 2004. Do some reading before you start, look at the instructions, PB blaster is your friend, Plan on possibly breaking bolts etc. Have fun. Not hard to do. That kit I believe is a 3.5 back space. Only know because I am doing the same thing.

Will stock wheels be ok for a while? I olan on upgrading but not right away for budget reasons.

Stock wheels will be fine as long as you keep stock tires on it or something close. 33x12.5s will not be ok on your stock wheels with the lift and all. Youll encounter rubbing plus idk if youll even be able to mount the 12.5 wide tire on a 7 inch wide rim

JeepReaper09 05-07-2013 08:23 PM

I'm planning on going with either 32x11. 50, or 33x12.50... I guess ill have to get the wheels befire I lift it.

thgr8alex 05-07-2013 08:30 PM

Well you could lift it and drive it with stock tires/rims until you buy the new ones. But backspacing recommended for 3 inch lifts is between 4.25 and 3.75. (3.75 making tire stick farther out and 4.25 will be just a bit less than that)

JeepReaper09 05-07-2013 09:12 PM

I could do that, it'd look ridiculous and maybe the wife will allow me to get the tires and wheels lol

thgr8alex 05-07-2013 09:16 PM

Not a bad approach at all!!! Haha
