Does Discount Tire Direct give WF discounts?
Thanks for the assist!

dawhitesJKU 05-07-2013 01:36 PM

discount tires are already priced right. take whatever discount u can. Not to knock on discount tires, but i suggest you going to a local mom/pop tire shop (try craigslist), pay cash with no tax and save yourself hundreds.

Thanks for the post DivingJeeper. We give WF members $50.00 off their total when they purchase any 5 tires for their jeep through Discount Tire Direct. This discount is for online purchases only. Local Discount Tire and America's Tire locations are not required to give this discount. (but it doesn't hurt to ask)

To receive this discount please call us at 1.888.459.4080 and mention this website. Anyone here would be happy to help you.

You are shopping at a great time. Check it out..

Right now (see www.discounttiredirect.com for end dates)...

If you buy select tire sets you can get a $50.00 mail in rebate Visa card.
If you buy select wheel sets (excludes steel wheels) you can get a $50.00 mail in Visa card.
If you buy 5 tires and call in your order you can get a $50.00 mail in Visa card for WF Members.
If you buy select tires that have a manufacturer rebate you can add this too... (Ex. Goodyear Duratracs have a $60.00 mail in rebate, Goodyear MTR with Kevlar tires have an additional $80.00 mail in rebate.

So....

If you were to buy a wheel and tire package with say Level 8 Trackers in 17" with 285/70R17 Duratracs (5 of each), and you call in your order, your purchase would qualify for $210 in mail-in rebates. You'd also get free mount and balance and free shipping to the lower 48 states and Canada. :punk::punk:

Give us a call at 1.888.459.4080 if you would like to work up some quotes.

We are not affiliated with Tread Lightly so I'm not sure what promotions they have running. You'll need to check with them directly :thumb:

How does buying a wheel/tire package work as far as the TPMS system?
I only see a "Rebuild kit."
If the tires are preinstalled on the wheels wouldn't they just have to take them off again to put in my TPMS sensors?
Or do I have to buy new sensors when I place my order?
If so, how much are they?

Thanks!

Discount Tire 06-06-2013 11:47 AM

Thanks for your question. We have 3 different sensors depending on your application. They range from $55.00 to $70.00 each.

Please contact one of our agents at 1-888-459-4080. They will make sure you get the correct sensor for your vehicle.

The Wrangler Forum member discount cannot be combined with a price match.

I would second this. DTD may be better than the local DT store I went to and while I did get a good deal initially, it wasn't worth the hassle and added costs. Spent over 2k on wheels tires, ordered everything and was exact on what I wanted done. Even paid 2 weeks before the work was done when I ordered.

First off, I have no idea what the meanings were on their invoice. I asked for specific items and everything was listed generically on the invoice. For instance I ordered 17x9 Ultra Crusher wheels and their invoice said another brand of wheel 17x8.5. I was assured the Crushers where order and that part worked out. Crushers it was. The only specific item on the invoice was my duratrac s.

I ordered black gorilla lugs and lug locks. I'm rolling around now with chrome gorilla lugs no locks. They started to argue with me that it didn't say black on the invoice... Everything was generic as I said before and I was assured that was correct before i walked out after ordering and paying 2 weeks earlier. (I went over the invoice with the manager or guy that helped me because I was concerned the invoice was so generic.) Finally they locate black lugs (no locks) from gorilla with my name on them in the box, they didn't fit of course. I'm told they will order the right ones but I'm a little skeptical... Ill keep calling.

They "don't make hub rings" in 71.5mm hub 78mm bore I was told for the crushers. Bull, I found them online in 2 seconds... So my included hub rings weren't included. Plus $50 for me having to order hub rings that don't exist.

The tires the tpms came out of we're suppose to be rebalanced and they weren't I was told. This may be fine as I understand they just pop the one part off the tire to remove them... Fact was though when I ordered I was specific that's what I wanted done and as far as I know paid for it. The excuse was they were slammed that morning. They had my Jeep for 8a - 5:30p... So slammed in the am or not, I dropped the Jk off and they had it all day.

So, while my experience may be unique it goes with saying, you get what you pay for. Next purchase will be local mom and pop.

Discount Tires will also price match, even with Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels

I've always been treated well at Discount Tire, outstanding store, online or in-store.

I bought my AEV wheels, and they are being shipped. With the install of tires how do I best utilize Discount Tire? Should I have tires shipped to my house from them and take to local Discount Tire shop for install ... or buy through the local shop. Does it matter?

Discount Tire 06-12-2013 02:30 PM

^ In-store purchases come with some added services that are not included with any online purchase so be sure to have both quotes detailed. In most cases, if you have a local Discount Tire store, buying directly through the store is usually the most convenient AND cost effective way in the long run but I recommend getting detailed quotes from your local store as well as Discount tire Direct. This way you can compare and make a decision that works best for you.
