Spare sits cockeyed? (Teraflex carrier)

So I noticed today that one of my tailgate bumpstops is significantly more crushed than the other (see photo). When I assembled the Teraflex carrier everything went on correctly and straight. Does anyone know what would cause this? The tire is mounted against the carrier plate flush and I can't see anything that could be offset. Is this a common occurence with these carriers? I really don't even see anywhere in the design that would allow this to happen, unlesss it was specifically designed that way.

NOTE: This is just the carrier, not including the tailgate hinge.

Did you use the spacer shims when installing the carrier?

I sure did. I was just reading up on the hinged carrier a bit more and it seems that you're supposed to remove the passengers side bumpstop during the process. So perhaps the passengers side bumpstop just naturally sticks out further and this is normal?

I think the bump stop removal is only for the HD hinge, no?

If you remove the passenger side you'll get the same amount of lean on the spare wouldn't you? The bent rubber bumper wouldn't even be there and the tire may lean even more possibtly from what I'm seeing. I'd trim them both down to be an appropriate size.

The mounting plate is bent at an angle to make up for when used with the hinged portion. There should of been some spacers included to stack behind the tire mount so it's sits even. If your missing those, send me a pm with your name/address and I will send them. Thanks for choosing TeraFlex!

You're referring to the two 1/4 inch spacers, yes? Those are definitely in there! You should be able to see the upper one in the picture. One for the top and one for the bottom right?

Mine doesn't do this... sits strait like it's supposed to. Something has to be up. Maybe the lugs tighter on one side...or the bolts aren't flush through the carrier? (Guessing)

I don't see the big spacers in your picture. There are two separate size spacers that came with my kit. There's a smaller rubber spacer and a couple huge spacers. I didn't use the larger ones in my installation because I also installed the hinge at the same time.

They're most definitely there (see below). So unless theres an even thicker spacer that I'm missing, I'm not sure whats wrong.

There's a thicker one. As TF mentioned, they might have accidentally omitted it from your order. Get in touch with them.
