Broken bolts HELP please!

Ok tried to remove the front bumper in my 01 and of course out I the 6 bolts 3 of them snapped off even with the frame. Both bottom bolts snapped off and 1 on the top that went through the tow hook snapped off. How in the heck do I get these removed so I can get new bolts or what is done in this situation.

drill a hole in the bolt and use this:
Irwin ST1-ST6 Straight Screw Extractor Set*|*Quill.com

Soak 'em with PB Blaster or Kroil for a couple of days first.

If you snapped them off trying to remove them, odds are a screw extractor is NOT gonna help.

As stated....... soak them for DAYS..... with Kroil if you have it.....PB if all you can get.

Use a center punch...... and pound a good divot into the center of each snapped off bolt. This will actually help loosen the bolts further. Spray again with Kroil/PB for a couple of days.

Drill hole in previously made divot and THEN try extractor. It took me almost a solid day to get TWO of those things out.... I ended up drilling them out and using a punch to separate.

It you can weld, weld a washer to what remains of the bolt. Then weld a nut to the washer. Then turn the nut until broken bolt is out. You may need to retry a few times.

X2 The most important thing is to center the divot and drill straight. You will most likely need to run a tap through the threads to clean them up.

Ok thanks guys, after trying to drill 1 of the bolts out I guess the drill wandered and now I have a hole off center and I got pretty mad last night and quit, that was only on 1 of the 3 bolts. Now wht the heck I do with that one I have no clue, I definitely do not know how to weld and have no access to one. Thanks.

Drilling off center is NOT the end...... putyour drill in that off center hole and gently slope the bit back towards center....... take it easy........ and you will "walk" the drill point back to center...... and then drill in further......
