Nitto Trail Grapplers MT/R

anyone running Nitto trail grappler MT/R's? thinking about getting these and keeping stock sport s wheels. Any opinions?

upin1212 05-08-2013 10:32 AM

I have them on my nitro they are a good tire they last awhile.

Sgt93 05-08-2013 10:38 AM

I have ran them since they came out on 07 Cummins and 11 F250, best tires I have ever run. I never had a problem getting mileage out of them, but I rotated them every 5K as well. Snow, rain, mud, dirt, monsoons, midwest snow storms etc, excellent tires. When the 13 Rubi tires wear, I will replace with Nitto Trails.

I thought MT/R's were Goodyears, mine are anyway.

If you plan on keeping your stock rims, plan on buying wheel spacers. The rim itself doesn't stick out far enough to fit those tires so they will need to be spaced out to accommodate a larger tire.

I freaking love mine. around 20k miles on them and still a TON of tread left. But they are a very heavy tire. Other than them being heavy. I love them. Hook up on the rocks fantastically, cleans out thick texas mud well. Can't say how well they do in snow and ice. But I'm sure they'll be fine.

How did you get that user name again?

HK_Runner 05-08-2013 01:51 PM

I hear they are hgh quality tires but no C-rated 35s and the weight- means I'll never use them...not on the Jeep, BUT the local guys who run them, like them.

My favorite color is white, my jeep is white, half of my shirts are white, my sunglasses are white, my xbox is white, I like white. So my friends call me and my Jeep "Snow"

Ah. I get it. I was just poking fun at the fact that you said "I don't know how they would do In snow" given that your user name is snow. Lol

Moving to Montana though, so I guess that will change.

These are one of our most popular tires! What size are you looking for? You may need to add these:

Spidertrax Jeep 1.5" 5x5 Wheel Spacers

Let us know if we can help! We have free shipping on these as well!

LOL how big do you want to go? You can do anything up to a 35" pretty easy. Some have even gone as far as a 37" on the stock wheel!

Not to hijack the thread but I too was curious about these tires on my stock wheels and suspension. How big can you go and I assume you would need two of the spacer kits Jason mentioned/linked?

Thanks.

KrawlOff-Road.com 05-10-2013 09:25 AM

Yes, you will need to pair of the spacers we linked to push the wheels out to make room for the larger tires. Then of course, you will need some more height to go bigger once you reach a certain point.

Understood, but can you tell me how big (tire size) I could go on the stock wheels and suspension using the spacers only?

Are you going to be offroading it? If not, you can do a 33" pretty easy and some have done a 35". To be safe, I would stick to around a 285 though.
