A little new at this...

Hi guys - I've seen plenty of forums about this subject, but hopefully you can help me out! I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler, factory hard top...looking for a soft top that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I'm going to need both the top and the hardware, right? A friend suggested I check out a local junk yard to see if they have any Jeeps with a useable soft top...should I do that or just suck it up and pay $750?

you could buy a frameless soft top and spend less

I do not own the frameless but a lot of people on this forum like them. Could probably find it for less from another seller too.

You can find the door surrounds and tailgate bar used for much less than what you would pay for a new set and honestly as long as they aren't damaged there's no reason to buy them new. All other soft top stuff... Def get new.

Keep in mind if you go with the above mentioned rampage top none of the hardware is included (door surrounds, tailgate bar etc). I would suggest also looking at the Bestop trektop nx as another option for a frameless top. Can usually be found online for 500-550.

Taylor,

If you're looking for a complete soft top for a great price, you'll want to check out the Rugged Ridge XHD Top. It comes with everything you'll need to install it, other than a Header Channel. There's some great reviews of this top on this forum and on Youtube. I have a buddy who runs this top and loves it. It fits great and looks good too.

Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the top.

If I didn't have any of the mounting hardware for a soft top, I'd go for Bestop's Supertop NX kit. It includes literally every single piece needed to make it work like the OE soft top did which they also manufactured. I'm running that top on my TJ & it's a great product.
