How about a before and after thread?

I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I thought it'd be pretty cool to see how everyone's rigs have progressed since they bought them.

I'll start, but I don't have one from right when I bought it, this was a few weeks after. It was purple without the 2" lift when I got it.

Nice thread! It will be nice to see everyone's rigs!

I don't have a pic of mine stock I guess. I put a 4" RC lift on it right after I got it (pic 1). It had the wimpy 2.5L engine and D30/35 axles.

Now it's on a RC 6" lift, 33" duratracs, with Dana 44's, ARB lockers, chevy 5.3L and E460 transmission. Putting on 35" tires next month.

Heres a pic:

http://www.svnsvs.com/storage/jeep/l..._evolution.jpg

And most recently with my white doors and new front bumper:

http://www.svnsvs.com/storage/jeep/1021/151.jpg

1. Stock
2. Sold soft top, installed Hard Doors & Hard Top
3. Removed stupid bra things and started getting 'er dirty
4. Installed 4" lift, 33x12.5's, brake extenders and removed nerf bars

Last pic, as/is w/new front bumper.

Next on the list-
fix cancerous rust spots
install 6" flares
add 2 more inches of lift in the back to level 'er out
replace rear bumper w/tire swing out and recovery points

Nice builds. It's kind of shocking to see just how much everyone's has changed since they bought them. Some just look totally different.

I've only had her for a few months, so lots of progression coming after the summer. What has been done: 2"BDS, 8.25" rear, 31" duratracs, tuffy console, tuffy speaker box, VDP wedges. Next year, 1.25" BL, cutout body, new fenders, 33's, paint, MML.

its hard for me to say "before and after", because I have alot left to do, so Ill say "before and current"

YJ fanatic 05-09-2013 07:50 PM

Very true, I'm not done either. So how about "Then and Now?"

Are any of us ever truly "done"?

My signature says it all. I know mine will never be done. Every time my jeep gets upgraded, something else needs to be changed to. It's a never-ending cycle.

rykemc 05-09-2013 09:01 PM

Mine is not done. Hopefully this winter I can start on the exterior.

YJ fanatic 05-09-2013 09:14 PM

I'm working on the interior next. Looking to pull the carpet and bed line it. That's most likely coming after a winch and rock sliders though.

tigerblood 05-09-2013 09:28 PM

moving my belly pan back up is my next goal, along with tube fenders and rock sliders...i could keep going haha

YJ fanatic 05-09-2013 09:54 PM

Does anyone else look at their jeep and think "man, those tires kinda look small under there...." or am I the only one?

I always tell myself it just needs a couple more things. But the list never shrinks.

Wow, Norcal_Chris, that's a lot of flex!

Bigher tires are the next on the list. Then there is this, that, the other... the list truly never shrinks.

YJ fanatic 05-09-2013 10:02 PM

Is there any possible way to get that much flex while still spring under?

Not really. But not far off. The biggest issue with sua springs is that they are already so arched there is not mich room for downtravel. Most soa springs are all downtravel. I still had pretty good flex spring under in tje front, but its got nothing on what I have now. Not to mention it rides a ton better now than it used to

YJ fanatic 05-09-2013 10:22 PM

So besides the obvious stuff like springs, perches, and plates, what else would I need to go to SOA? A Trac bar and hi-steer stuff?

YJ fanatic 05-09-2013 10:29 PM

Because this is about as much flex as I can get right now.

Attachment 247318

I mean, I could get a little more out of it, but not too much. And I can't find anywhere in Michigan to really flex it haha

Norcal_Chris 05-09-2013 11:01 PM

I got a ton more with SUA. I had 4.5 RE springs. no trac bars or swaybars.

A lot of pics in my build thread. lets keep this one on topic. or you can PM me

Keymo 05-10-2013 02:29 AM

It's been done before... But who wouldn't take the oppertunity to show off their Jeep? :D

Approx. 9-10years ago shortly after I got her - starting the tear-down...

Oh! And the last thing I've "modded" about my YJ (honestly doesn't count as a mod. but I like it) was getting her some "vanity plates" because I thought she deserved it: "1989 YJ"

:D
