Need help deciding wheel size to order

So I have decided I like the Mickey Thompson Classic III wheels and want to order them. I am having difficulty deciding on which size though. I currently run stock wheels on my 03 TJ with 31" tires. The Mickey Thompsons have smaller backspacing at 3 5/8. I am going to keep 31" tires. My question is should I go with the 15x8 or 15x7 rims? They have the same backspacing. Will the 15x8's stick out too far? Thank you for the help.

31x10.5x15's will fit better on 15x7, especially for offroad airdowns and sidewall protection.

I agree.
I run 33x10.50 MTs, on 15x7" wheels.
I air down to about 12 psi for most trails, no probs keeping the bead seated.

mine are 10" and they don't stick out that far

As far as stick out...
My 15x7s have 3.75" backspace.
Combined with my 10.50 wide tires and Rubicon flares (1" wider than Sport flares), my tread is almost fully covered. Full tread coverage may or may not be important in your locale.

The risk in running 7" wheels is that they are too small to run a 12.50 wide tire, should you decide later that you prefer a wider tire.
I chose 7's because I intend to always run a 10.50 wide tire.
