That was over 7 years ago....
Well it's been 2 weeks with the jeep and I love it. Thought I would do a progress thread for it.

Here she is in all of her glory. Dont worry only paid 13,500 for it, and it also came with a soft top and bikini top.
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/02/qumareza.jpg
Waiting to sign papers. Got a full tank of gas too.
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/02/a2u6u6a3.jpg
Fits in the garage with 3" to spare.
I quickly started to take notice the aftermarket goodies that came with the Jeep.

So from what I can see it came with a 2" RE BB, 1" Day star BL, 1" MML from M.O.R.E, and an engine/transmission skid plate from Skidrow.
As you can see from the pictures above the shocks were blown. So a set of OME shocks.

I saw this little guy two coves north of Party Cove on Lake Lewisville.
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/02/jegejy2e.jpg
Props for him getting that far.
Back to the Jeep..
This radio wasn't cutting it with lack of blue tooth and no aux.
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/02/zasazuhy.jpg
$20 If anyone wants it.
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/02/atevebuq.jpg
Replaced with a JVC unit with no cd player. :smug:
Also got the mag light mounted.

Stay tuned.

Nice Rig! Welcome!

PCB 05-13-2013 07:47 AM

Little cutting and welding and got the 5x5 wheel to fit on my spare tire carrier.

MoonyJohn 05-13-2013 02:26 PM

Those wheels look good on your tj man, way better than the jk haha

tkfx 05-13-2013 06:04 PM

Aren't rubicons 04-06 only?

haha thanks! I have gotten more compliments about the wheels since I put them on. Cracked me up everyone was  when bought them. It also helps that the wheel/tire combo is more proportionate to the TJ. The 2013 Rubi's look kind of weird with them.

No Rubicon models started on 2003 TJ's and have continued ever since on all models TJ 2dr, TJ Unlimited, JK 2dr, JK 4dr, and JK Unlimited (JKUR).

Rubi4Life 05-20-2013 10:23 PM

PCB, Enjoy it I loved my 03 Rubi, but after one to many solid objects I had to let her go. Looks real sweet, make sure to keep the carpet even if you line the tub, helps at resale, and better for the dogs. My GSD was all over the back of mine with no carpet.

PCB 05-21-2013 01:23 PM

While I dont ever plan on selling, you bring up a good point about the carpet in the rear. I may have to look into something for Cooper.

93civEJ1 05-21-2013 06:35 PM

good looking rig.

PCB 06-07-2013 06:37 PM

Well last week I routed the speaker wire in the roll cage for a cleaner look. (Sorry no pic, didn't want to rice up my thread )

As I was checking the brake pads this morning I noticed this..

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/...51984/blah.jpg

So naturally I looked up Stu's site and did some reading. So I bought:

Timken Bearing
SKF Wheel Seal
RP 75/140
Misc sealant

So then I went back and inspected the pads and rotors... looks like its time to get some new gear..

After about 2 hours of searching and reviews I dropped some coin on these:

Jeep Wranger (TJ) 1997 - 1998, Front Brake and Rear Disc Package

Not a huge upgrade but have been getting amazing reviews from everyone on the board.

As much as I want to be mad about spending $500 for this it needed to be done. Can't wait to dive into the rear end and get that seal replaced. I love a challenge and pops just bought a press. What timing!

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/08/y3yrere9.jpg

Also bedlined the front. Going to look :pimp: with the winch, fenders and JK turn signals.

Did the Led tails mod. Along with a spiderweb sun shade.

My birthday was yesterday and got some $$$.

So on the way:

Recon winch
OR-Fab tire carrier
PS defenders
PS hood louvers

That bed line is a good idea.. Mind explaining a little how you did that? We have the same lookin ride :)
Wouldn't mind bed lining mine if I knew how

Great looking TJ. :punk:

The bedliner wasn't hard at all. I got the liner in a can from Home Depot.

Masked off the fenders, engine bay, bumper and behind the grill.
Took the headlight rings out and scuffed them up with 600 gritt.
Scuffed up the entire grill with 600 gritt.
Wiped down with damp lint free cloth.
Started with light coats. (thats the key, don't look for immediate coverage).

Once I got it to look good, I left the rings and put the Jeep in the sun for a few hours and took the masking off and put the rings back on. Seriously stupid easy. You will do fine!

I figured, just wanted to make sure. Honestly I am not sure what they are. Previous owner had them put on.

I'm loving the color scheme, man! It's definitely one of the nicest silver/black jeeps I've seen :thumb:
