Rock Run $5 Day May 19th Central PA

Come on up and join me and my local group for wheeling that day. Will be running medium level trails and should be a fun day.

Steveo33186 05-09-2013 07:29 PM

More than likely ill be there

GoldenSahara00 05-09-2013 07:37 PM

Awesome. If everyone makes it up with me we should have 4-5 rigs.

Steveo33186 05-09-2013 07:44 PM

What type of trails do you plan on running

GoldenSahara00 05-09-2013 08:36 PM

Their "blues" which is like blue blacks on a normal scale. Some greens too. Most of the rocks we can find.

Steveo33186 05-09-2013 09:48 PM

I'm not sure I'm set up for their blues

GoldenSahara00 05-09-2013 09:50 PM

What are you running? My brother has a stock hilines yj on 35s open/ open so we won't do anything he can't by pass or temptation skip out on.

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 06:13 AM

I only have a 2inch lift with 31s open at both ends.

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 10:15 AM

There are a few you should be able to run. Like I said my brother will be open open 33s no lift. I guess it depends how hard you want to push yourself.

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 11:31 AM

If your brother is open on 33s with no lift ill just follow behind him as try everything he does. Almost all of the greens I've done there I haven't had much problems with.

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 11:35 AM

We'll spot you through rocks and all that. Anything you feel up to trying we will help, not gona let anything bad happen haha. If we get into anything crazy you guys can either wait it out or skip around it. Or ride along and we'll come back.

His yj

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 11:57 AM

I'm up to trying just about anything. As long as ours it's don't want to go onto like trail 21

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 12:05 PM

Well avoid it. Some of the ones I really like are 27, 11, 3, and a few others up in there. We want to get more into the other sections, we ran a trail but I am not sure which one, that was fun but pretty tough last time.

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 12:24 PM

Pretty tuff for you is nearly impossible for me.

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 12:28 PM

You guys can help spot on that one. By pretty tough I mean we made it about 150 feet in and decided it was gona get too dark and we would be broken by the time we got through. My friend marc got his build done before me, so he's rocking a freshly tucked belly and finally got a front locker.

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 12:53 PM

Well seeing as how I've only ever gotten stuck to the point that I needed a winch once while there I think it's about time I start doing more difficult trails

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 12:58 PM

Haha we can get you there. Also a buddy from eastern PA just hit me up and said he might come out. He has a pretty crazy buggy right now I think, but he might just come out to ride along. If he does bring his rig though, we get to watch him destroy the stuff we struggle with

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 01:53 PM

Good... I need an excuse to use my new winch anyway.

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 01:56 PM

I had a guy comin with a 4runner too, but turns out he got a new 1 and he's not getting lift/tires til next month.

your winch, my winch, same thing :thumb:

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 02:51 PM

Most of the guys I know will be a doe valley for their spring thaw on the 18th and 19th so ill be making the trip up solo

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 03:14 PM

I was going to go as well, but I have a Country Concert in pittsburgh that evening and they want more and more every year to go on their rides. A lot of cool guys up there but last time all we really hit were bunny trails. I like lettin loose on my own a little more. I will probably get a membership and join Big rubbers eventually since I only live about 25 minutes away.

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 05:14 PM

I've never been to doe valley. I've only been to rock run and scrubgrass.

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 05:15 PM

I been to DV once. Rock run 2 or 3 times. Rausch once. Local spots lots.

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 05:18 PM

I wouldn't mind going to Rausch but I would have to spend the weekend to make it worth the 4 hour drive.

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 05:19 PM

We have a trip planned July 19-21 with about 40 people from WF going :thumb:

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 05:30 PM

If I still have a job and can get those days off I would go. Union contract is up at the end of this month and nobody has a clue what's going to happen with that.

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 05:34 PM

That doesn't sound fun at all... goodluck :thumb:

I found some local guys with trucks who wanted to wheel, told them about rock run, they wana go up. I am driving in the business for Rock Run

Steveo33186 05-10-2013 05:42 PM

Arnt most of the trails a little tight for trucks

GoldenSahara00 05-10-2013 05:49 PM

The greens he should be alright. Some of them are. They aren't too big
