My 87 have the spot on the front end where there should be a vacuum line and there's no vacuum line but it still locks in 4wd

Thanks I will take a look at it. I got stuck for the first time in the jeep and had to walk 7 miles to get my f250 to pull my own butt out. Luckily I had one of my buddies with me.

He might be walking again ... we'll give you some time to catch your breath. ;)

Thanks for your service I guess I am AFMAN (by the way man has one a:angel:) I'd expect that from an Army dude HUA!

I kid I kid, but it does have one a.

Thank you to all our military brothers and sisters. Much respect for you all.

OK back on track ...

My dad had the same issue on his jeep. It was an easy fix. They also sell a manual cable to replace the vacuum lines. I have herd good things about them. Way more reliable, not sure if there are others that make it. Google Jeep Posi-lok

Here is the link 4x4 Posi-Lok Positive Axle Engagement System for Jeeps

I have had to work nights for the past week I have the day off today. I am going to take a look at it today. I did take a look online about the cable kit. i will look at the vacuum lines first. if i cant figure them out i am going for the cables. Thanks guys for your input.

yeah, double check all cables as well. All around the gearbox, any connection.

Nubby55 05-17-2013 08:07 PM

I went with the Cable, a sure thing, but I'm old and a cripple so I can't walk 7 Miles anymore, That's Why I Got A Jeep!
