Stubby bumper question

I was thinking about cutting the stock bumper and installing the end caps from quadratec. Are there any disadvantages to doing this? Will I have more rocks come up and hit the windshield or anything like that?

My experience has been nothing but positive since stubbing my bumper more than a year ago. The major advantage for me has been no more mud collecting on the bumper ends like on the full length.

Thanks. I like the rough country caps that you have.

I personally like the rough country ones better. I like that they are straighter compared to the rounded ones from qtech

I chopped mine almost a year ago, no regrets. I didn't even buy the caps, just leaving it chopped because I'm getting a bumper soon.

I had to chop mine to clear 35's.

Damn them are ugly....kind of look like mine lol. I will say that I have noticed more spray on the windshield when driving on sloppy roads. Even when I am the only vehicle on the road I get spray from the road if it is sloppy. I have not noticed more stones being thrown up tho.

Watching you pick a bumper is like going bikini shopping with a woman.

Seriously! There's SO many nice bumpers out there, hard to make a choice.

This week, I'm leaning towards the Genright bull bar. I like the sunken winch look.

the caps are a nice cheap temporary mod, but i've already ripped em off twice in the trails.. next time gonna use metal fasteners instead of the plastic fasteners.

Took like 10 minutes to chop them with a new sawall blade. Took longer to measure before cutting. Looks awesome!

They do seem to find themselves lost after a trail ride dont they...lol. Ive lost both mine and just decided to keep em bare untill I find the bumper I want.
