Custom HiLine Tube Fenders Build

2 Attachment(s)
Hey yall, as my stock fenders are rotting away im fabbing up some tube fenders. I thought Id finnaly figure out how to use forums and share with you all!
So about the fenders, ive always like how you get some fiber glass hoods that have the top of the fender connected so as the hood lifts, the top portion of the fender goes with it while the other half stays with it. I feel like ive searched everywhere for a fiberglass setup like that or even a steel setup, but ive yet to see anyone that makes it. So instead of throwing that idea away, ive decided im going to go for it.
Where I currently stand in the build is I have the outline all bent up and the sheet metal. What I have left is a coupke other minor bends, framing, and mounting points. So thats the current build for the jeep!
Any questions or comments please ask or share!

Didnt forget about this! I needed a pipe coper and knew no one that had one so we dropped the deuce and got a coper for the shop. Finally getting back to work on the fenders I got most of the framing layed out, still a little more frame work that needs to be added though. As we where in the prosses of welding what we had together, found out that the tank for the welder was empty. I facepalmed myself. So this is where I stand right now.

In between the two closest tubes is where you can see the cope at where its going to split.

This week is finish the fenders week, hopefully! Everything is welded in place and where I want it. Were I stand now is making everything structurally sound and skinning them with the sweet brushed stainless I picked up. I'm really happy with the way these are turning out, be finished already!

Check it out!

Looking forward to seeing these done. What are you planning to do with the inner fenders? Looks good so far though

bigblackjeep94 09-04-2013 08:44 PM

Thanks guys! But as for the inner fenders, I'm eather going to extend the original or make up some some new ones. That's still up in the air, but ill come to a conclusion once I get there

^^^ Aluminium wheel well (; (in the works)

Befor I really started these I was looking to see if anyone makes them, and found no one anywhere! Has anyone seen someone that makes them / made them befor? Really curious who else has followed threw with the idea.

minisaba 09-06-2013 11:38 PM

I think metak cloak sells them separately. Those look like some pretty beefy fenders. I'll be checking this for updates.

OmniscientHiers 09-06-2013 11:47 PM

They look excellent, and pretty strong. I like 'em. Some have made their own fenders, but not in your approach/style where half flips up with the hood.

Thanks everyone for the positive feed back! Glad you all like them.

I got the inner fenders made. I decided to make them out of aluminum. They came out sweet. Extending the oem wheel well was a thought but where's the fun in that?! Go big or go home, I was already home, so my only other option was to go big. We did what we do and Wellahh! Check it outt!

Thanks man! Now I just have to get on the other side. Should take only half as long as this side cause it intailed a lot of fabrication. For years my brother, father, and me have always wanted to start a performance & fabrication business (Bramante Industries). So as this is the prototype, we are going to make it as "bolt on" as possible and put a price tag on them! I've had this idea in my head for a while and now to make them and to see you guys like them is awesome.

OmniscientHiers 09-08-2013 11:41 PM

Mind if I ask for some measurements? Lift and tire size? Top of tire to flare? Rear tire to flare? I have thought about making some myself.

kosemund 09-09-2013 03:14 PM

what kinda price did you have in mind if you start selling them?

UnlimitedLJ04 09-09-2013 03:35 PM

I like em!

As said, Metalcloak sells fenders with aluminum inners. Gen-Right also sells a highline fender kit, and inner fenders. Aqualu sells aluminum full fender replacements, both stock and highline versions.

Jaxon1023 09-09-2013 03:39 PM

Is the hood strong enough to support the side impact of the fender?

It acutally seems pretty sturdy, if I run into problems I was going to make cross braces that connect straight to each of the flairs. Or ill just make them before I run into problems haha

Any finished pics? Also PSC sells an inner fender kit out of alum. for 150.

mattamd_xp 02-25-2014 07:20 PM

I really like the look of those. Great fabrication job on the inner fenders too!
