Ac/heat not working
1st post.

SO i recently had a new low milage motor put in by a rather decent mechanic (im holding my tounge here) and after the install i noticed my ac no longer worked (thats cool i have a fucking jeep who needs ac)
but now the heater doesnt work (that not cool i fucking jeep and i need heat)

it blows air and everything but only the temp of the outside

-my coolant tank has no cap on it if that has anything to do with anything

????? Coolant tank????? If radiator is full, heater should work if thermostat and heater coil working. A.C should work too. Is the compressor kicking on when you turn on? Look at compressor, it should b spinning
I don't use my heater but I love my A.c

so the ac compressor will control both heat and cold air? (sorry if this is a stupid question)

AC compressor is just for AC. If you turn the AC you should hear the compressor engage. If not it could be a bunch things, from low pressure, bad switches, bad relays, etc. AC system is a bit tougher to work on than heat. First step would be getting some AC manifold gauges or have someone look at it.

You get heat from your engine pumping coolant through the heater core. Under the hood you should see a place where 2 coolant hoses go through the firewall. Let the engine warm up and these hoses should feel warm. If not, something is messed up with the coolant flow because the heater core isn't getting hot water. If those hoses are warm, then that usually means the blend door is stuck for some reason, which blocks the heat from blowing into the cabin. Blend door could just be broken or your dash switches aren't working or connected right.
