Picked up my 2013 white jku last wednesday. I've had time to sit with it. Im not sure I like the white lettering on my tires facing outward...

Anyone elsr get this from dealer? Do you like it?

Some like the white but its all up to you. Personally my aftermarkets are all black lettering on both sides. Not a raised white letter fan lol

My Bright White 12' Sahara Unlimited came the same way. I was going to have them flipped too, but decided against it. I plasti dipped my stock 7 spoke Sahara wheels and don't mind the white lettering as much now. I plasti dipped my grill too.

Youll never see them when theyre covered in mud

woansleftpeg 05-16-2013 02:51 PM

I think white lettering on tires looks awesome.

jkjeeper06 05-16-2013 03:05 PM

I LOVE white lettering on my jeep. I won't buy tires without it. They get coated in mud a lot and I Use a little wesley's bleach-white and they stay white the whole life of the tire

Senojelyk 05-16-2013 03:40 PM

For me it just depends on the vehicle. My 95 YJ has white's out and I love it, but I got black out on my 10A and also love that. Take a pic from the side and open it in paint, throw some black over the white letters and see how you like it. Doesn't have to be a great photoshop job to tell..

IORRichie 05-16-2013 04:19 PM

I dunno, I can't decide.

But I see all your guys rigs and not a single white wall, except those that have posted here, lol

Its a lot of work to switch them , then hate black side walls...

every vehicle I've owned except my 2010 ram was black walls out..it worked on the ram, not sure about the jeep though

Not on mine, thank you. It looks every 70's.

thats what I'm thinking...

The 70s gave us some of the greatest automotive designs of all time.

Yea... I think for the younger generation, it a new thing. For those of us around in the 70s this came and went. Very tired out by the 80s and why you don't see it any more on performance cars.
Why would you want to advertise for a tire company?
I personally would not buy any tire that had white lettering on it. Even if you turn it around you can still see it on the inside...:nonono:

IORRichie 05-16-2013 05:52 PM

I don't have a choice, it came with these tires....

The 1970s were an intellectual desert of automotive engineering and design. I lived through it and it was a joke for automobiles.

The Pacer, the GM X body, the Vega, the Pinto, the Cordoba, and the 165 hp Corvette are the proof.

Agreed. I use a Dremel and grind it off. Yes, if they want to lower the price of their tires, I'll sign an agreement to use white side out. Until then, no thanks.

The Lamborghini Countach, the Jaguar XJS, the Datsun 240Z, the Porsche 928 and the C3 Stingray are all timeless design classics that look as good today as they did then.

White letters out look good on Jeeps provided you keep em clean. Otherwise put em on the inside.

JerryJeepster 05-16-2013 07:09 PM

Do they still make white lettered tires?? Not a fan but to each his her own. Big fran those are blue! Hehehe

Reece 05-16-2013 07:40 PM

I traded up to 18's at the dealership, take-offs imagine. I had them break them down and turn the white letters in. Next you jack them up wheel by wheel, clean them, wipe them down with white gas or some such solvent and spray them with black bumper paint for plastic bumpers and trim. It's pretty easy, spin as you clean and spray.

The blue is a chalk/protectant for the paint. It washes right off with a scrub brush. Those pics must have been when he first bought them

Personally? If I were proud of the product they made, wanted to recommend the tires without having to tell everyone, and generally thought it was a stand up company and enjoy the product. Those are my reasons tho.

Why do you still have the jeep logo on your grill and steering wheel?

The paint pen could be your friend If you don't like it. Or a little sandpaper. Put them white walls out, then decide. If you don't like them, the white is easier to remove then flipping the tires

My son and I just put them on yesterday after work. No time to clean them off yet. LOL

Don't Like the White Walls

Personally, I don't like white walls. I run KM2's but have them switched so the white walls don't show. Just make sure if you reverse them, they can run that way. Some tires you can not reverse.

Who makes that front grill?

viperx6x9x 05-16-2013 11:32 PM

Personally i like the white out. But pretty much all my vehicles have been black so it blends in differently than with a white vehicle.

But easy way to tell, somebody mentioned photoshop earlier but this is easier. Put a pic from the side on your computer. Open it with MS paint, zoom in and paint black over the white letters. Save the pic and compare them side by side.

In the end it's what you like better that matters. But this will only take a few minutes of your time to get an idea what it will look like all black. Vs. time and money to go have them rotated, which would all be wasted if you decide later you liked the white better.

IORRichie 05-17-2013 04:26 PM

Yea I think this is what i will have to do, as the dealer wants 80 bucks to flip em
