wife in I trying to get in a new Rubicon unlimited

What is the realistic price to pay OTD including tax title etc for something like this??

http://i42.tinypic.com/xfu9ur.jpg

Heres where we stand so far:

I went tonight and I couldn't get these guys to keep from working off the msrp number in the pic above. The lowest I got them down to was invoice. Or so they say at 39,000 something. Then want to give us about 3000 less than my wives car is worth in the worst condition on kbb trade in. I walked so far.

dealer called back...Ive got them down to about invoice, but still dont want to really do much for her trade in. We are going to get an appraisal later after work from Carmax just out of curiousity.

yeah...we took it to car max and got appraisal to for them to buy or trade in for 1500 more than what the car dealership would.

When i told them this, they were willing to come up 500 dollars more, but i still havent got them to budge from pretty much just flat invoice. I feel like I could do better. There isnt much in any distance thats not in other states that is what we are looking for....

Use the tool posted in the first post in the 2013 Information Thread. It's at the top of the JK section in the sticky list. :thumb:

I got mine 2% below invoice, as did a ton of people around here using that tool and the Affiliate Pricing Program. If nothing else, consult that spreadsheet to know what invoice is on the Jeep and all your options.

Go in armed with this info and you may get somewhere.

93civEJ1 05-17-2013 06:49 PM

I have been looking at the spreadsheet before signing up. Went in armed and told them i know what invoice is etc and that alot of people are getting around 2% under invoice. They arent having it so far.

Are you a Costco or USAA member? If so, use their car buying service. Sounds like a dealer I wouldnt want to buy from in the first place.

Good luck!

Jeeps_and_Boats 05-17-2013 06:55 PM

Whats with the misleading post titles these days?

Thornie 05-17-2013 06:59 PM

I got a 2013 rubicon 2 door with almost every option:
-premium soft top/tinted windows
-6 speed (highly recommend that)
-leather seats
-connectivity
-730N GPS

I got mine for $33,000 before taxes with a $1000 trade in on a horrible high mile 97 Honda civic which was beat up, scratched, dented, and no tail pipe.

I seriously think they are taking advantage of you. I would just go somewhere else. Even if it isn't close. My dealer was about 30 minutes away and I had a dealership 5 minutes from my house. But it was the best experience ever and they treated me like family.

Good luck!!! I would seriously walk.

email every dealer within a hundred miles with that sticker and tell them what you want to pay or load up on Saturday morning and go to dealers and one will deal with you.

Thinking thats what I might do.

i emailed some last night but didnt really hear anything.

LIGX 05-17-2013 07:45 PM

Email all of them (show all the email addresses in the email) and let them all see that your going to several dealers. That way they realize that your going to multiple places thereby causing some competition. Treat the purchase as if your buying a commodity. Don't let them see the emotional side of the deal. I did it it worked for me. You'll have no leverage unless they think your willing to walk away or get it from someone else.

93civEJ1 05-17-2013 07:59 PM

i just came across one that is exactly what we are looking for except it doesnt have the tan leather like we were looking at which is no biggie, but asking is 37k with 4,000 miles for a 2013...nav, heated seats, hard top etc....i emailed them...if they were interested in a deal we may drive the couple hours

ztman 05-17-2013 08:16 PM

Time to pick up the phone. A lot of dealers wont give you the best price via e mail. I always call three dealers, tell them I am buying within the next two days. Tell them I am speaking with two other dealers, and the best price gets the sale. One always gives the cut to the bone price.

Rubicon10aPacer 05-17-2013 08:37 PM

I don't know this dealer but you can at least check their prices. Looks like some great deals! They have a 10th Anniversary JKU for $6,128 off the msrp that puts it about where your dealer is on a much lower price JKU. I though they had a white one in stock but don't see it in their inventory now. This is a link to a 10th Anniversary in Anvil.

Thanks,

I actually just found one online that we may try to shoot for...i found some normal prices on them..only difference is they dont have the leather...which aint a deal break completely.

I have emailed kind of a competition thing. Shall see what happens.

Thanks...so far I have got more responses on here than jeepforum.com

93civEJ1 05-17-2013 09:12 PM

its actually gonna be my wifes ride, but since I get to play with it and whatnot, i said to get a rubicon...honestly she would be happy with a sahara or the others with the nav and options.

93civEJ1 05-17-2013 10:42 PM

if somewhere is asking 37K even for a 13 with under 5,000 miles, what should I offer? There may not be any wiggle room, but just getting a guess.

your invoice is $38,741 anything below $38,000 your doing ok less then that you're doing well...

I always say get a good deal, but get what you WANT. Getting a great deal on Sacrifice, isn't a great deal. and remember $500 is about $8 / month.... i wouldn't let that stand between me and getting what i really want... Just me

93civEJ1 05-18-2013 05:29 AM

I just sent an early mornin text to my friends dad. I told him if he can get us at msrp or below out the door after everything then we may have a deal. Otherwise I am probably headed out of state this morning after my bank opens to negotiate and potentially come back with that other one for 37 asking price.

Lakeboi 05-18-2013 06:00 AM

Ordered two weeks ago. Did all my homework thanks to this forum. Walked in told dealer what I would pay (3.6 under invoice) and asked if they wanted to place my order. CU has 1.15 financing for 72 months....I'm happy.

Don't ask what things cost as you will inherently get the MSRP quoted. Final straw for me, walked into a dealership and said I would like to order a Rubicon. He asked what that was (yikes) and then quoted me MSRP-stood up and walked out.

Now just need jeep to build it!!!!

sparsons79 05-18-2013 06:24 AM

Just ordered a 2103 White Jeep Unlimited Rubicon with the following options...
tow, 4.10, hardtop, connectivity group and auto transmission.
MSRP is $38,390
Invoice is $36,061

Here's the breakdown
$33,890 Jeep
$599 doc fee....would not budge
$1,019...state and local tax
$254...license fees

$35,759.79 total to my door step, as they are delivering it from Georgia to North Carolina.

I called multiple dealers in my area and mom of them were willing to work of had what I was interested in. Found this dealer a ways away and they offered to build it for me.

Nice. im actually going this morning to see if I cant just get my approved loan with a you write it check, take it to the local one where we are interested. Try to get the deal I want..if no cake, then I am maybe headed to one state over 3 hours away to the other dealer. UNLESS my step father does some trading with the out of state dealership and gets the JKUR from the other state over here to the dealership he works at.
I would rather do that if possible. He works for Chevy and the out of state one that has 4k miles is at a chevy dealer as well.

Treadlightly is automatically 1% below invoice, so I wouldn't even talk to them unless THAT was my starting point. Coupled with your beating on the trade, I'd walk and go elsewhere.

Zero. For that much, I'd want a brand new vehicle, even if it had 100 miles, I want MY vehicle. It would have to be a SUBSTANTIAL savings for me to consider a lightly used vehicle for me to buy it.

Congrats!! I think?! I don't care what you paid, the smile you get every time you drive it is worth whatever price YOU paid!

93civEJ1 05-18-2013 02:11 PM

Thanks...I ended up on the fully loaded one saying we wanted msrp OTD after tax and all and her car paid off on what she owed and the small amount of hail damage on it.

93civEJ1 05-18-2013 02:11 PM

thats my tacoma in the pic with her (she says our) new baby. We already had one person pass early in a jeep wave..we both just laughed.

Congrats, mine is was almost identical before mods!!!! The one regret (if you can call it that) is when I ordered I opted for cloth seats. Wish I had leather now. I would love to find someone semi local that was about to order and do a swap with extra cash so I could get leather. Enjoy, and like others said, who cares what you paid. As long as your happy that's all that matters

bill9274 05-18-2013 02:39 PM

congrats that is sweet
