So i just picked up a 79' CJ-7 and It is in pretty damn good condition for sitting in a garage for the past 20 years. I plan to replace the front and back axles with 1 pieces, most likely dana 44's. I also need to convert the drum brakes to disc brakes, pick up a new windshield and a soft top for it. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to wear I might be able to find a dana 44 front or rear already with disc brakes or any of those parts that would help me. It was painted bright green, cant say its the best color but for the condition and price I could not help myself. I attached some pictures of it if you guys want to check it out. I believe it has a 304 V8 also, the guy said he just cleaned it up recently.

Looks like a good score to me! I wouldn't replace the rear axle unless it is necessary. The model 20 with good axles is a stout unit. I have ran one for over fifteen years and only had to replace the bearings. I put Moser axles in it and there are many good one piece axles available. The only issue is that the axle tubes are weak (never bent one though) and can easily be trussed. As for the front, the model 30 is a good unit until you go over 35's. Some people will dispute that but mine has served me well. This Jeep should have disc brakes up front unless it has been changed out. A good set of hoses and pads/calipers will go a long way on OEM rotors which are available at any good parts store. I have used the rotors I bought when I built mine and haven't had to replace them but they will be due next brake service. Good luck and enjoy.
