School me on rear corners....

Hey guys....Im looking for rear corners, but with a catch...it is 95% for looks. I want corners with ROUND lights. Also, I don't mind DRILLING into OEM sheetmetal, but I do not want to CUT OEM sheetmetal. I believe both the Evo and PSC require you to trim sheetmetal around the tail-light. So my options are....

Poison Spyder rear corners....

Pros

*look good
*people generally say they fit great

Cons

*Too long for my needs.
*expensive
*no reverse lights

EVO Offroad

Pros

*very strong
*well priced

Cons
*poor fitment. Requires clamping to force the metal to line up
*no reverse lights
*too long for my needs.

River Raider

Pros

*length is exactly where I want em.
*love the way the light sits. Looks the best IMHO.
*available in aluminum (don't want extra weight when not needed)
*price is ok

Cons...

Honestly, can't find a lot of info on them and the company. Don't know how well they fit, if you need to drill to mount the skin/new tail-light, etc.

Anyone have any advice? Anyone own river raider skins?

Ok, scrap the river raiders....those apparently require MASSIVE cutting!!!

I know you mentioned you prefer round lights, but. Based on the other criteria, maybe the MetalCloaks? Not to mention you wont need to cut in another set of backup lights. Their LED tails and back ups are crazy bright. No addl cutting, just the drilling for bolts and nutcerts. Cost would probably be an issue, though.

Darn, I was digging the RROF set.

Honestly, if I wanted the square looking tail-lights, I'd probably just go with AEV....I just REALLY love the look of round tails. After more research, it seems no one except AEV (and like you mentioned, metalcloak) is drill and play...the rest of them are all cut (to various degrees), drill and play.

:(

Not ready to do that just yet. :D

I think the poison spider corners look the cleanest.

Good luck on making a choice. If you really want em, I say go with em and cut away. I was like you on cutting more holes, digged MC fenders, so it was a done deal for me.

unfinished, you can cut out as you require:

JK Builders Rear Corner Guards

I feel exactly the same. I really like the PS corners, but they're longer than I really want. I also looked at the RR, but the amount of cutting is crazy. But then again, whether you go PS or RR, there's no turning back, so does it really matter?

True, but I still don't like cutting things when not needed. I'll get the AEV builders corners and mount my own tail-light system in it. Now to finalize the look Im going for....Maybe a round light for brake/tail/turn and a rigid flush mount for reverse...could look cool.

hmmmmmmmmmmm...

I've said it before - my wife hates this forum. :D

Post a pic when you get done. I'm interested in how much prep work is needed being raw steel.

We'll see if your paint & body skills are better than mine.:rofl:

It won't take much.
