Found a new Bumper
As the title goes I picked up a decent deal on Bestop's Highrock Narrow Bumper in a 4x4 Shop out in Clackamas, OR.
Store owner had a floor model he wasn't getting rid of, so we worked out a deal of $275 out the door. I was cool with it as I didn't have to pay overweight shipping so it still worked out better than any deal I could score online.
So, I get to work installing it after we all get back home, and here's a couple things I've learned installing this guy:
1. 75% of your time will go toward removing the factory bumper.
2. The bumper is advertised as direct bolt on, and that is true. However, a vacuum pump relocation kit for you '12 and up folks will really speed things up. I didn't...
3. Factory bolts 18mm, Bestop bolts 17mm... Just found it kinda funny
4. If your state requires front plates, FIND 2 NUTS and 2 BOLTS! Bestop doesn't issue those in the parts kit.
Installation is very easy, took maybe 30 mins to install after ripping off all the factory plastic.
Great choice, I love mine, been running it for a few months now. Only problem I had, was the directions and pictures included, had differences, about the fog light install. I ended up installing mine upside down. I changed it a few days later. Works great with their bull bar with 12" LED(had to drill new holes) and my Engo winch.
