Front bumper help

I'm new to the jeep thing and I'm looking for a new front bumper that will also allow for a winch install. I kind of like this Smittybuilt one, but I don't know how good it is. Is anyone running it?

SRC Front Grille Guard Bumper by Smittybilt

My budget is probably around the $300-400 range. I would like something that offers a lot of protection and has a hoop, but I'm open to just about anything. Anybody have any other suggestions? I read somewhere that there was a front bumper thread, but I haven't found it after many searches.

It looks good. I have seen it on a jeep by me before. I am pretty sure it needs a winch plate to install a winch because it is not a winch bemper. They usualy run between $80.00 and $300, depending on type and quality.

Do a search on front bumpers in the forum, there are a bunch of threads with great information in them. Also, check this thread.

I run the RRC/SRC bumper and like it very much. You do need a separate winch plate when you add a winch. Good luck with your project.

I have one as well. I used the Smittybuilt winch plate Winch Plate by Smittybilt and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware (my jeep is in a couple of the pics for it too). I am thinking though I may cut off the 2 side bars and just keep the hoop or stinger, whatever you would like to call it. It is a pretty strong bumper, I picked up the whole front end of my jeep with an excavator one day at work to move it out of the way, lol, barely even nicked the paint. Oh, I mean move it off a big pile of rock and dirt I got high centered on before my lift, lol.

OTP Jeep - I would not remove the 2 side bars. They are so high they do not affect your approach angle and if I had this bumper both my front fenders would not be pooched.

Jeep Rockcrawler Bumper

Saw this on a local Craig's List.
