Interiors the same?

I was wondering if all of the JK’s have the same basic interiors… like dash, doors, etc. ?

Swadehead 05-24-2013 11:33 AM

They redid the interiors in 2011.

And new seats in 2013 as well.

OP, are you talking between years or between models?

Oberst Hajj 05-24-2013 12:27 PM

Both I guess. We really need a "What's Different" thread to show what changed from year to year.

A reference table would be cool. The 2011 interior on up looks more Grand Cherokee like or top shelf as they say. 2007-2010 looks more Tupperware-ish. But everything 2007-2013 is all in the same spots for the most part, skin deep appearance variations.

Does the 07-11 Jk's have the oh shit handle above the glove box... the one with the "Jeep.... Since 1941" trim piece?

The handle is there, but there are no words or Jeep logo on it. Here is a picture of a 07-10 interior to show you what that looks like.

Here is shot of the 11+ interior for you to see a comparison of the two.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Zach! We bought a 2012, but I had no idea the 07-10 looked so different inside.

Yeah the newer interior really helped me make my decision on purchase, the previous interior seem way inferior in the looks dept.

Hmmm....I'm positive it says Jeep 1941 on my 2013 "oh poop" handle....

There was a HUGE upgrade in 2011. I think that is also when saddle was offered.

They almost had me in 2011, but then I was like; "Wait a minute, there's a new 285 HP motor just around the corner!". LOL

One thing to consider is that if you plan on removing the doors, the older wranglers are easier to manage because you can roll the window down and grab the handle on the inside door panel while lifting/carrying it. On the newer models, (at least on my '13), it is not possible to grab through the inside door handle, so removal and re-installation are more akward.
Otherwise, I agree with previous posters that newer JKs have an upgraded interior. The Saddle interior is very inviting.
One other thing: the ambient lighting in the footwell of the '13s is no where near as bright as shown in the picture a few posts above. just a heads' up if that matters.
Here's what mine looks like inside:

I agree there. I hate how they did the inside door handles on the 11+ models. Whoever designed those should be fired.
