Mirrors

Hello all brand new member here 2day so a shout out to the you all..
Anyways I just bought my first jeep, love the older ones so I picked up a 92 YJ , I live in Cape cod MA and they have strict auto rules here so I want to be 100% legal, I want to run the summer with no doors or top and my mirrors are on the doors, I know i need some kind of kit that goes on the windshield hinge brakets, as im new to all this what do i need to buy? just the mnting brakets or the brakets and new mirrors ect ect? if anyone would be kind enough to maybe give me a link to the actual product I need to buy for the 100% complete pkg that would be awesome , also I dont like chrome so matt or flat black is what im looking for. Thank you in advance .

Rich.

Hi Rich,

There a few types of brackets for the windshield hinge.
You should know that the upper half hinge just has a bolt in a threaded hole.
The lower half hinge is a bolt thru a hole with a nut on the other side.

You need the following to install a lower hinge bracket:
1) small hands
2) a non-rusty jeep
3) patience
4) extra large swear word vocabulary

I used an upper hinge bracket.

Some say these mirrors rattle but, I just tightened everything up to stop that. Of course that makes them unadjustable but I'm the only driver.

Thnx Raoul 4 the help, I went with the Rampage Products Quick Release set on that same page, as I was thinking I dont want to run around with 2 sets of mirrors on my jeep when the hard doors are on lol.

get some mirrors for a Harley. they will drop down into the hole on the hinge when you take your door off. just put them in and put but on them. when you want to put your doors back on just pull them off.

Roll tide! it works. I live in Alabama and we don't need to have side mirrors. I just think it looks cool. they are easy to use and quick to put on and off.

"Oregon Ducks FTW!" I don't know if that's what you guys are talking about but that's my two cents. By the way rolltide's mirror setup is pretty BA :thumb:
