Alright, so for about a month, my Jeep has been in a bad mood or something. It was misfiring when I hit bumps or accelerated. It was also kind of bubbly when I went to crank it, unless I turned on just the battery twice. When I brought it to the shop to just see what was up, they told me that the distributor cap, rotor, wires, and spark plugs needed to be replaced. So I bought a kit with all of these things from MOPAR, and installed it all myself today. When I test drove it, the misfiring stopped, driving was much more smooth, and acceleration picked up. But of course, it was too good to be true, because it's still a bubbly start! So if you know what the culprit probably is, I'd be glad to hear it!

Not sure what you mean by bubbly start but maybe your fuel pump is going out.

Bubbly, as in RPM's are real low like it's about to stall, then they go up to normal.

Went riding all day yesterday, the misfiring when hitting bumps is back...but they're different from before I replaced the rotor, cap, wires, and plugs. They're either barely noticeable, or they're really violent.

No error code light? If not, try doing a scan when you start up if you got the device for OBD readings while jeep is doing the problem. That might shed more light on the issue...

You havent mentioned which engine or year you have? The Jeeps with fuel injection have a "returnless" fuel system and sometimes because the fuel isnt cycled thru the Fuel Injector rail water or debris will get trapped in the fuel rail. Of course water will not pass thru the injector easily so this will cause a missfire. Sometimes running a "Fuel Dryer" additive in the tank will cure it sometimes you have to remove the fuel rail and injectors clean it all out with carb cleaner and blow out with dry air.
On rare occasions you can drain some fuel out the fuel pressure tap and clear the water out.

Something to check anyway.

It's fuel injected, 2.5 liter 4-cylinder. 98' model TJ. I don't think it could be anything trapped in my fuel because it only misfires when I hit a bump at acceleration. My top 2 guesses are either fuel pump or injector?

UPDATE: Today was riding, hit a bump, and when the engine misfired, I heard a short clicking/squeaking noise. Does this help narrow down the problem?
