John Bull and Holcomb- June 22nd

I know it's a little ways out, but I'm thinking of heading to BB on the 22nd and hitting some trails. It's the week after forest fest so the trails should be nice and dug out for us :D. I'm thinking we could start at little John Bull, John Bull, then Holcomb? Or??? It's been a while since I've hit that area.

Anyone interested? haven't done much wheeling with the WF group and you all seem like a good group.

H8-roads 05-28-2013 08:18 PM

I'd love to join you if it was on a Sunday. :)

Moabrubi 05-28-2013 10:50 PM

We'll see how it plays out. As of now I'm pretty open.

Gunner 05-28-2013 11:15 PM

We'll see if I have any money left after the vacation.

UC Rubi 05-30-2013 12:00 AM

If I'm still in town I'm game

Jeepma79 05-31-2013 10:56 PM

I am interested.

So sounds like we got a few maybe's. My engine skid got delayed another 2 weeks, but at this point I'll probably just end up going without it anyway.

Big Vic 06-06-2013 03:48 PM

I'm in, I missed the last two runs because of work so I will make this one.

Moabrubi 06-10-2013 12:25 PM

OK we are doing these trails for sure now. I was a little hesitant to hit them without an engine skid but it just shipped today so this weekend I will install that.

Awesome, so are you pretty familiar with the area? It's been over a year since I've been up in the Holcomb Valley. I know how to get to JB but don't exactly remember how to get to Holcomb. Either way we got plenty of maps and GPS's to find our way :).

Hope everyone else can make it, I like having at least 3 Jeeps in a group.

Big Vic 06-10-2013 12:40 PM

I have only done Holcomb not JB. I'm sure other jeeps will jump in on this.

Ok sounds good. At this point it's just you, me and possibly a buddy.

Big Vic 06-10-2013 11:06 PM

That's OK with me, sure it will be great.

H8-roads 06-10-2013 11:31 PM

Are you guys still running it Saturday?

Where are you coming from? Would you prefer to meetup near the trailhead of the highway somewhere?

WOKNROX 06-11-2013 09:16 PM

What trail are you guys gonna start with?

Im thinking JB early to beat the crowd. Last time I got there around 11 and it took 2 hours for everyone to get up the gatekeeper because they kept breaking and getting stuck.

WOKNROX 06-11-2013 09:51 PM

Sounds like a good place to start..

socal-jk 06-11-2013 11:29 PM

What kind of mods do you need to run John Bull?

I know people on here have run it in TJs with no lockers and 33s. Its pretty tore up right now so I would say 33s, rocker guards and some skids. Lockers make it a lot easier and at least one is preferred but if you dont have any we have a winch :).

Last year when I was on 31s I ran a portion of the trail with no issues but turned around due to the traffic so I dont really know what the obstacles are like beyond the second one.

Awesome! If I had known I would have salvaged my old links that were set up for a 2" lift.

That Rubi of yours would do just fine with a few extra skids and the right length shocks :).

I am driving in from San Dimas off the 210. I would be willing to meet up with you if its not out of the way too much.

Im in Rancho Cucamonga, a buddy is coming from long beach so we are all going to be on the 210. That makes it pretty easy.

When I get home I'll figure out a place where we can all meet up. Im thinking somewhere at the bottom of 330.

Big Vic 06-13-2013 07:08 PM

On highland ave and the 330 there is a shell gas station that makes a good meeting point.

I thought that was a Chevron? Either way that works.
