So I'm interested in bringing my '01 TJ up a couple inches, but don't know enough about the differences in using spacers or getting a lift kit? I understand the spacers are the cheaper way to go, but can anyone give me some pros and cons to each of these options?

I'm not as expert as a lot of guys on here but I can give you an opinion. I think for a small lift spacers are good value. I had a 2" OME lift on my old Cherokee, and I just fitted a Rubicon Express BB (1.75" spacers with shocks) on my TJ. A spring lift feels a bit more like doing the job properly and if I'd had the budget at the time I would have probably gone for OME again, but for less than half the money (and these things are really expensive over here) I think the spacer kit does a great job. I plan to go a bit higher next year and that will be a spring lift without a doubt.
Not much science I'm afraid, but just an opinion.

Are you planning on offroading? If not, just go with the spacers and save your money.
If you do plan on offroading, you'll get better flex out of a true suspension lift.

i would go with new lift springs if you have the budget. I think the ride quality is better, more flex and looks better too. Just personal opinion. but if you see yourself going up higher one day BB might be better to save on money for lift at a later time.
