Where is the sensor for the rear view mirror temperature?

I've noticed the past week or so, my temperature on my rear view mirror is showing 120+ degrees, and it is only getting up to 90 or so for the high during the day. I even hit 117 while in the woods, so I don't think direct sunlight is the problem. Is there a sensor somewhere for the temperature that may have gone bad? If so, where is it located? Thanks!

Iirc it is located right behind the grill on the drivers side. You can see it looking through the grill from the outside.

Thanks! Do you know if this is just for the mirror temp, or is the sensor used for anything else? I don't wan tot go jacking with it if there is a chance I can screw something else up, haha!
