Another soft top issue

I installed a Bestop Twill Supertop on a 2012 JKU a few weeks ago. Everything has been great until last night. I broke the front driver's side door surround trying to put the arch back in. From everything I read here, it seems like I should be able to run fine without the arch.

On the way to work today I noticed a lot more wind noise than usual. The top is clearly not sealing properly above the driver's side door surrounds. There are two rows of stiching along the side of the top. On the passenger side, the lower row is inside the surround and not visible. On the driver's side the lower row of stiching is aboove the surround, and I can easily lift up the top.

Customer service at Bestop thought it could be a problem with the surround, but I am not convinced. Any similar experience or thoughts?

Is the cable system spring still clipped into the holes on the corner plate? It's possible that came loose and that's not pulling the top tight enough to seal. I've seen them come out and the top gets just loose enough to make the wind get in. If that's not the issue, then there may be an issue with the door surround like Bestop said.

Let me know if that helps!
